![]() State of the Planet Update: May 21st 2021 by Isaac George Yesterday afternoon I had an experience that reminded me of some basic truths about Life. The weather around here has been very unseasonable lately. Chilly, rainy and generally very un-Spring like…even for England in late May. Anyway, around 4pm there were two incidents that happened in succession that were strange. First, the lights flickered briefly, usually the indication of a possible power cut or transformer switching. It stopped, and all seemed normal. About 2 minutes later, the same thing happened, but this time the lights stayed on, but we lost all mobile phone (cellular) signal, lost WIFI and broadband. Even the mobile data quit entirely. I felt a weird surge in my energy field, and my body stiffened slightly. Very weird indeed. In about 15 seconds everything settled down, and all services magically reappeared. A moment of chaos and storminess…then normalcy. Three days earlier I had read a regular email I get from Spaceweather.com, describing a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from our Sun 100 years ago in May of 1921, and how it impacted people, our environment and technology of those times. Here’s an excerpt from the article I linked above: ![]() “On May 15, 1921, the biggest solar storm of the 20th century hit Earth. Around 02:00 GMT that Sunday morning a telegraph exchange in Sweden burst into flames. Across the Atlantic, the same thing was going on in New York. Flames engulfed the switchboard at the Brewster station of the Central New England Railroad and quickly spread to destroy the whole building. During the conflagration, long distance telephone lines burned out in New Brunswick; voltages on telegraph lines in the USA spiked as high as 1000 V; and auroras were sighted by ships at sea crossing the equator. It was Big. Solar. Storm.” ![]() When everything is working as it should, as we have imagined and designed it, we feel safe and secure, solid and ‘normal’. But the moment something alters that envelope, human beings run a gamut of feelings that are usually quite unhelpful. I might guess that the strongest emotion to such an event of 1921 was first shock and bewilderment, followed by a sense that we do not have everything under our control. Control is something we have struggled with throughout our evolutionary history. One might say that we equate power with control, as they imply a sense of “being in charge, and on top of things”. Perhaps therefore modern cultures still have an innate distrust or suspicion of Nature and Her workings, or even that of the Universe itself. Look at all the Sci-Fi movies that posit that venturing into the uncharted regions of space may get us into a real pickle. The subtitle of the first film in the Aliens franchise stated scarily “In space, no one can hear you scream.” Indeed, they would not! The Sun has been quite active of late, as we begin our ascent into the next Solar Maximum Cycle. This cycle lasts about 5.5 years. It also coincides with the bigger astrological markers that started this decade off with a shove – especially the ingress of Saturn into Aquarius (technology – digital) in December 2020. You have heard me prattle on and off about these energetic patterns and how they influence and inform us, and how we are interacting with them. The modern ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, is the consummate trickster and thief. Have you been watching the cryptocurrency roller-coaster lately? That is Uranus in Taurus talking. Now that we have entered the Aquarian Era (not AGE!), we are confronted with the belief that technology, especially digital or bio-digital technology, will be our saviour, and solve all the myriad problems of humanity. However, if the Sun, or Nature, pulls the plug, then what? What safe harbour do we sail to for refuge? How do we come to grips with the unknown in those situations? Are we at all prepared for what we may have to do in such times? ![]() For one thing, our grounding in spiritual principles should remind us of the impermanence of all things, and the ultimate folly of seeking power over and control over everything we observe or participate with. One of the New Age beliefs is creating one’s experience of the reality you want to inhabit. However, that does not mean that you have a totality of control over Creation. Oddly, that is the same ideology that modern science and medicine are toying with. Cracking the human genomic code and exploiting it as a means of avoiding change, illness or even death. That is, in my view, dangerous and doomed to fail. When the chips are down, or things feel uncertain or even scary, what shall we do. Where do set a course for a safe harbour? We will need to have the vision and will to create it. It begins within each of us…there is where to build the foundations. Then in small groups, and then to groups of a 100 or so folks. Community, cooperation and mutuality of vision are the building blocks that well help us weather any storm that comes our way. We get through the gauntlet together, and that means we will need to refocus from sole preoccupation with personal spiritual development only, to one of sharing ourselves and our skills with others. ![]() The Saturn in Aquarius vibe is about peer pressure and coercive compliance. It serves those who covet and aggrandize power and control as the primary virtue. We are listening to another song, and a different drummer. That song is freedom and the desire choose how we show up and how we can help each other to thrive. I ran across this meme the other day, and it is perfect to close with. “What we allow, will continue.” First, apply that idea when it comes to examining where you place your authenticity in second place in your relationships, so you do not have anyone disapprove or criticize you. Secondly, observe how that same phrase has played out in the human experience for millennia. I will leave the research on both parts up to you. In the meantime, find that safe harbour within, begin to design a mirror of it “out there”, and keep a weather eye on the horizon. This Sunday's upcoming edition of "Revealing the Mysteries" radio program is all about the solar-earth changes, the upcoming Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius, next Wednesday's Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, Mercury Retrograde and more -details below. Strong solar storms and convoluted astro-events are keeping us on our toes lately. We have a busy end of May and beginning of June coming up, and I would like everyone to be well prepared. I will be previewing and explaining the energies we may experience with Saturn Retrograding in Aquarius, followed by the first total Lunar Eclipse of 2021, followed by Mercury Retrograding in Gemini, followed by…well, you get the idea. A whole lotta dancing going on! The one thing that is going to be important about all of this, is to watch is how short our fuses might get during all of this. Mars will oppose Pluto in right before the second eclipse which could cause a lot of frayed nerves. Grounding and good nourishing food will be important…and hugs, or something. Our cousins the Bonobo chimps use pleasure to diffuse frustration. We’ve forgotten that medicine and all too often numb out instead. It won’t work, and these planetary aspects will guarantee it. Start the music, and let’s dance!
