![]() March 9th, 2015 This month has a load of astrological markers that are quite significant on their own, but it is the synthesis that is most intriguing. If you are not savvy with astrology terminology or the use of archetypes, the technical side can be a bit daunting and distracting. I’ve tried to minimize the astro-babble and focus on the influences, feel and meaning of these times, and more importantly, how best to respond to them. For those of you who do follow astrology, and know a bit about your own charts, the areas of highest sensitivity for this month are planets, asteroids or chart angles between the 8th to 17th degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn, and Leo. Since there is so much happening this month, I’m breaking this report into at least three bite-sized pieces. Each blog will cover the 7-day period ahead. Enjoy, and remember, this too shall pass! ![]() Week of March 8th to the 14th - “Under Pressure” We’re past the Full Moon of March 5th, and it seems it was particularly challenging for a lot folks...and continues to be so for some. The Sun in Pisces came up to meet transiting Chiron in Pisces this past Sunday, and that may have brought up some ‘ouch’; old hurts, wounds or grievances from your childhood that can no longer remain unacknowledged. To some extent, these two events…the Full Moon and Sunday’s Sun-Chiron conjunction, were bookends. So, if you are feeling raw about any wounding from previous situations, this may have been an opportunity to dig into the stories associated with these formative events in your life. Also highlighted at this time are any masculine-feminine tensions, inwardly and outwardly. This gets a boost by what’s been transpiring with Mars and Venus, the archetypes of human relating. The next section highlights this. “Venus is not her easy-going self in Aries, but Mars is right at home in it, and is spoiling for a fight!” Mars and Venus have been hanging out in the sign of Aries (the Warrior) since February 20th, and have been coming into close contact with the South Node of the Moon (represents karmic baggage – subconscious patterns) and Uranus (“My freedom sir…NOW, if you please!”). Venus is not her easy-going self in Aries, but Mars is right at home in it, and is spoiling for a fight...or something! Add Uranus into the mix…and we have an unpredictably explosive situation. Add the South Node, and everyone’s old hurts and wounds start rising to the surface. Add in Pluto in Capricorn and we have a power play! Anything that is not in alignment with your personal evolutionary impulse, or the planetary dream, is getting a Spring cleanout. To fully comprehend this examine any recent events in your relationships that have shown you where you have tolerated actions and behaviours that weren’t necessarily healthy, loving or above board. It will also show you where you’ve abused your own power, and haven't taken responsibility for it. You might feel you want to confront those with whom you have an axe to grind, but it may be more useful to examine your own past, and see where the pattern started. This is you healing your patterns, and is not about fixing the other person. “Keep in mind that the Moon will be in Scorpio during the middle parts of this week, which can clearly amp things up emotionally. Don’t suppress, but reign in your impulsiveness before expressing yourself. Compassion is the key. Much of what is now occurring is also mirrored in the global and regional news. If you feel triggered for no reason whatsoever, by minor or major irritants, then it would be a good idea to recognize that what you’re probably feeling are the injustices in the world, and how they are reaching a critical mass. We make so many excuses for not standing up and saying how we really feel about what seems to happen to us, and all too often we rationalize in favour of those who continue to abuse us, or others. Time to learn to say no…and mean it, rather than to think it’s not polite or loving to address an intolerable situation directly. Keep in mind that the Moon will be in Scorpio during the middle parts of this week, which can clearly amp things up emotionally. Don’t suppress, but reign in your impulsiveness before expressing yourself, or it could be destructive. Compassion is the key. Next Mars meets up with Uranus on March 11th. Now this could be quite tense, as this joining is being squared by Pluto in Capricorn. It also comes with the caveat “and now for something completely unexpected”, as Uranus is the master of surprise. This configuration can have two or more felt experiences…chaos or excitement are two that come to mind! Giddiness is another…like the sensation one has just before the first car on a roller coaster peaks at the top of the first hill…just before the descent. (Chart for March 11th below) “Wherever the tension has been at its most taut, there is where the energy has to be moved or released. The lesson’s been learned, the contract is done…time to move on. “ This will feel like a clarion call to action, a strong desire to break free from restrictions or obligations that have become intolerable. How this might manifest depends on which houses in a person’s chart are ‘lit up’ by these three planets. Example: It could have something to do with work and home (10th-4th houses) or perhaps with relationships (1st-7th). Mars will then advance slightly to square with Pluto, raising the pressure again. Wherever the tension has been at it most taut, there is where the energy has to be moved or released. The lesson’s been learned, the contract is done…time to move on. A sense of bold determination can take hold in your heart now, inspiring you to take risks now that you wouldn't have imagined in the recent or distant past. Saturn turns retrograde on Saturday the 14th, signalling a change of direction. Saturn will be retrograde till August 2nd, when it stations direct at 28 degrees of Scorpio. (More about the retrograde in future posts). You may feel this one, as the Saturn ingress into Sagittarius on Dec.22nd-23rd was quite a game-changing event on the heels of the Winter Solstice and Uranus moving into direct motion. Anything that is making you feel ‘stuck’ at this moment about what you started began during Christmas week, 2014. Examine whatever was initiated at that time, and see how you need to remove, adjust or shift now to get yourself moving in the appropriate direction. Since Saturn is in the sign of that which is about seeking truth, perhaps some piece of information or merely a new insight will help clear up any confusion, which will also help to end any impasse and start moving forward again. Mercury enters Pisces on Friday, so you may find your attention and thoughts wavering or becoming fuzzy over the weekend, especially when it moves closer to Neptune in Pisces. This happens in advance of Monday’s big deal – the 7th and final square between Pluto and Uranus. The outer planets are all transpersonal, and the inner ones are the personal. It is the interplay between the personal and universal, the individual and humanity at large, that is being influenced and prodded into massive transformation at this time. You can take it personally…and grow with it! We are truly living in interesting and unique times. The next installment, coming out Sunday morning, will address the Uranus-Pluto showdown on March 16th and the Solar Eclipse and Equinox on the 20th. This is a gateway that takes us out of the Piscean Age and anchors us firmly onto the road towards the Age of Aquarius. Never a dull moment! Steady as she goes everyone... United Kingdom: 0044(0)7875 123406 Resources and Practicum: You may feel overstimulated and tempted to spend even more time online or with technology (Uranus), but you could get a bit frazzled. To relax, spend time out in Nature, eat well, stay grounded, sleep and naps, Bach’s Rescue Remedy for nerves and, of course, lots of high-grade chocolate. If you can’t have chocolate, then use spices like cinnamon or nutmeg in warm milk or teas. Valerian root tincture is also recommended. Barbara Hand Clow’s excellent analysis about the whole Uranus-Pluto cycle and how it defines our age socially, politically, economically, environmentally and evolutionarily can be found here. Highly recommended for students of astrology and consciousness. http://www.handclow2012.com/News/Seventh-UsqP.pdf
