![]() Lunar Eclipse – March 23rd, 2016 By Isaac George March 22nd, 2016 "In true love, happiness is not an individual matter. There is no distinction between the one who loves and the one who is loved. Your suffering is my suffering; my happiness is your happiness. Lover and beloved are one." ~Thich Naht Hanh The bookend to the Solar Eclipse of March 8th-9th will arrive tomorrow at 12:01pm GMT. This is a partial or annular Lunar Eclipse of the Full Moon, with the Sun at 3 degrees 17 minutes of Aries, and the Moon opposite at 3 degrees 17 minutes of Libra. As I recounted in my Sunday blog, “Creative Chaos”, there are strong connections to what happened six months ago during the Solar and Lunar Eclipses of September 2015. You can read or re-read that post here. Suffice it to say that this is a fundamental reset of the “game”, and it will not only set the tone for the next six months, till the eclipses of September 2016, but quite conceivably for many months beyond that juncture. Time will tell, as it always does. Into the Way Back Machine! I’ve been looking back to when there were any lunations (New Moons, Full Moons) or eclipses in Aries and Libra between 2011 and 2013. I selected 2011, because Uranus entered the sign of Aries on March 11th, 2011…the day of the massive temblor and tsunami that devastated Sendai province in northeastern Japan. I found two charts, one in March of 2012 and another one also in March of 2013 that are very close to the one this is coming up this Wednesday, and is also strongly connected to the “Blood Moon” Lunar Eclipse of September 28th, 2015. In all of the four charts the Sun and Moon are tightly arranged between 2 degrees and 7 degrees of these two signs. I’ve included them with the chart for our Lunar Eclipse tomorrow at the end of this blog. Finally, the last blast from the past to reveal was that there was a Lunar Eclipse at almost the exact same degrees of Aries-Libra as the next one this Wednesday (chart below as well). If you can reel in the years and go back to March 24th,1997, reflect on what was happening for you at that time, it may put a huge spotlight of understanding on your current situation, and provide you with the wisdom and courage to act in accordance with your Inner Truth. "With Aries-Libra, relating is the name of the game. The challenge is how do we balance the needs or desires of the Self (Mars-Masculine) with the needs and desires of The Other (Venus-Feminine)? The seemingly eternal dance between these two forces makes for a lot of interesting poetry, music, art, fables…and tragedies." Oh, You Again…” Simply stated, Aries is all about the Self…”I Am.” Equally simple is that Libra is about “The Other.” There is always a relationship happening in everything…throughout the Cosmos, from the subatomic level to the galaxies themselves. Some physicists theorize that there are bonds and bleedthroughs between parallel Universes. Anyway, the Aries-Libra polarity represents the astrological version of The Lovers card in the Tarot, or the Sacred Marriage from the mystery schools. It manifests from the strictly personal level to the Universal Level. Beyond the duality of form, they are Divine Principles that emanate into all manifest forms, and yet are completely fused in the Absolute and are completely indivisible. That’s big supra-metaphysical theorising on my part, but feels right as a model. With Aries-Libra, relating is the name of the game. The challenge is how do we balance the needs or desires of the Self (Mars-Masculine) with the needs and desires of The Other (Venus-Feminine)? The seemingly eternal dance between these two forces makes for a lot of interesting poetry, music, art, fables…and tragedies. From an evolutionary astrological perspective for the past four years we have been on a revolutionary road of dismantling and reforming our psyches through the uncomfortable crucible of intimate and challenging relationships, and all of them have been steeped in a shamanic unravelling and healing of our relationship karma. When I use the word “karma”, I’d like for you to reference that word in a new way. Think “unconscious patterns based on equally hidden vows or beliefs”. Throughout time and space, we have met ourselves again and again with many of our “other selves” and have sought to balance the eternal dance that is ultimately about realising Love as a state or condition of being. "Perhaps the age of digital love is about to have a rude awakening, or perhaps we are awakening to the rudeness of digital socialization." Is there a manual for this thing? Okay, it hasn’t been easy, and it’s not a process that is culminating with Wednesday’s latest edition of Aries-Libra lunations/eclipses. I don’t have a crystal ball, or a road map, or even a factory issued user’s manual, but I do sense that this event on Wednesday may be a gateway to the final purification of eons of relationship trauma and drama. At least that’s what my instincts are saying just now. We are being given an evolutionary push to change our beliefs, and more importantly, our understanding about the purpose and potentials of human intimacy and conscious partnerships. It can be sometimes difficult to discern, but almost every challenge our species now faces, from how we care for ourselves or look after each other, to how we reinvent and reimagine our economic, political, scientific and societal structures… to how we end our mistreatment of the planet and her resources, hinges on how much we trust in ourselves and the ones we love the most. We pump the message that we need to love ourselves, and yet we are starving for connection. In his cynical and disenfranchised tone, Elliot, the hacker in the new television drama “Mr Robot”, bemoans the current state of human love: “[…is it because we’re] spamming with our running commentary of bullshit masquerading as insight, our social media faking as intimacy?” Perhaps the age of digital love is about to have a rude awakening, or perhaps we are awakening to the rudeness of digital socialization. "I feel that real spiritual love, one that is rooted in mutual respect and deep honesty, is extremely romantic. It gives us that sense of “coming home” that we all long for…and know we deserve." The Rest of the Story While the foreground is the Sun and the Moon in the Lunar Eclipse, the background cast is equally important. The day after the Eclipse Saturn will station retrograde in Sagittarius. He will move direct on August 14th at 9 degrees of Sag, and be very close to Mars at 5 Sagittarius. The upcoming Mars retrograde in Sagittarius and Scorpio is a story in and of itself, so I will save that for an April post. On the day of the Eclipse Saturn will be in a stressful T-Square with Venus and Neptune in Pisces, and retrograde Jupiter in Virgo. I feel that having this happen just before Saturn goes into inward (retrograde) motion is a phase of reviewing and integrating the energies and lessons of all the previous eclipses, and indeed, or all the Aries-Libra contacts of the past four years. It’s a time for introspection, and it won’t work to be doing hard-nosed analysing (Virgo) about matters of the heart and soul. The Venus-Neptune conjunction will be the main energy here…asking us to be compassionate and forgiving, and to also re-image a Higher aspect of romantic and intimate Love. I use the word romance not in a story-book way, but in a way to celebrate the “lift” that we experience with romantic love. I feel that real spiritual love, one that is rooted in mutual respect and deep honesty, is extremely romantic. It gives us that sense of “coming home” that we all long for…and know we deserve. I highly recommend this amazing video clip to get a better feel for what my poor words are trying to express. True Love and the Four Elements of Love – Thich Nhat Hanh. The first seven minutes carries the nugget of the message. Mars in Sagittarius will be trine the Sun and is sextile to the Moon. This adds a strong but egalitarian tone of asking that we tell the Truth…to ourselves and whomever we’re currently partnered with. Even if we are not with a significant other, our intention towards emanating compassion and love to those we are in connection with, in whatever form, will still have a potent effect. Ending conflict both from within and towards others is the idea. Mercury will be conjoined to the Sun as well, so there may be an impulsiveness to ask questions in a very rapid-fire style, like a special interrogator questioning a suspect in a crime. Uncomfortable but necessary truths may suddenly come to light. The juxtaposition between Mars and Mercury will be daunting, and a bit paradoxical. You may be thinking, "Do I stick to the hard facts only, or do I allow leeway for compassionate understanding?" I suppose the answer to that will depend on what type of information is unearthed. If there is no longer any resonance with your current situation, then this eclipse may signal that it’s time to move on and open to a higher more resonant partnership that is based on true love, transparency and equality. The asteroid goddess Juno is retrograde (inverted) in Scorpio, and will be in a harmonious flow with Venus and Neptune. The need for passion within our partnering is denoted by this placement. Juno typically is associated with the traditions of marriage, but in Scorpio, marriage is elevated to a sacrament through passion and sexuality. There can be no true intimacy without being naked in body and soul to the Beloved. This is soul Tantra, and is something we all possess, but has been civilised out of us and forgotten. Tantric practices were invented to reawaken us to the primal truth that is in the divine nature within our bodily forms. Ecstasy is a natural state that exists when we are in harmony with Nature, with the Goddess. "We all deserve the love that we give away, and the love that we receive. The union of hearts will be a potent power for changing the course of the future. Give freely…it all comes back to you in some way, and at some time." The Next Steps Between now and the next set of eclipses in September I feel that it will be a time of greater movement and greater clarity in our understanding of ourselves, of others and what our hearts and souls truly desire to create in this world. Everything is connected, and the arena of our interpersonal relationships echoes throughout the human and planetary construct. If we truly wish to have a different future, then the ghosts of our past must be confronted and lovingly and empathically embraced. We cannot cure prior wounding without acknowledging our held emotions and deep longings. The relationship issues we had with our parents are reflections of all of our previous bonding experiences with each other as lovers, spouses, siblings, parents or even just workmates and friends. To change the story of our personal and collective past is to alter the future. We have the potential to live the life of our dreams. I suggest that those dreams include others in many ways. To balance our needs with the greater needs of our entire species is the way forward. Everyone has a right to clean water, good food, warm shelter, comfortable clothing and personal safety. And everyone needs closeness, affection, recognition and love. Dr. Dean Ornish’s book, “Love and Survival” is a wonderful testament to the power of connection and what it means to be fully human. I recommend it to you as one of many potential guides to how we can imagine and create new and sacred ways of relationship, ways that don’t cause us to fall back into martyrdom or self-effacement. More importantly, we can end the cycle of heartache and heartbreak that is at the core of our spiritual wounding…the false sense that we are separate from our Source, and from each other. Move forward into the sacred marriage with your inner Beloved and invite that Beloved into your purpose for being here on this planet at this time. Let your deepest dreams and yearnings be expressed. Begin with yourself, then with your beloved, then in communion with others of your “tribe”, then in wider community. It grows exponentially when we choose love, collaboration and cooperation. We all deserve the love that we give away, and the love that we receive. The union of hearts will be a potent power for changing the course of the future. Give freely…it all comes back to you in some way, and at some time. With Love, Isaac I specialize in mentoring and coaching for singles and couples in the arenas of relationship and self care. ![]() Spring Equinox, March 20th 2016 By Isaac George Back before 1994 I hardly paid attention to things like Equinoxes or Solstices. To be honest, I had only a passing fascination with astrology before that year. All that changed and although I had not planned it, my study of astrology and my eventually becoming an astrologer led me into a whole new appreciation and understanding of these four annual primary geocentric events. In fact, it was also the very thing that pointed me back towards the mystery schools and pagan and shamanistic traditions. This year’s Spring Equinox is happening between two eclipses. We did have a similar situation occur last September, when the Autumnal (Vernal) Equinox occurred between the eclipses of September 13th and the 28th. That was a very powerful time, and in many ways, those eclipses are like bookends to this month’s action. First, the astrology of this month’s Equinox and then I will provide an overview of what I feel the energetic signature and possible manifestations might be over the next six months. The Ingredients: The first ingredient is a wide Grand Trine involving Uranus at 19 Aries, Jupiter Retrograde at 16 degrees of Virgo, and the Moon at 23 Leo. The Moon action is stronger with Uranus, and weaker with Saturn. Frankly, I like using a 3 degree orb, as there is more sensitivity with it. However, because the spiciness of Uranus, this stands out as a significant part of the recipe in Fire signs. The messages here are to get ready for some chaos and creative pushing…but keep examining your motivations for doing anything with the energy! This will be pretty much in force until Jupiter goes direct May 10th. In what manner and to whom will your gifts be in service to is now under the microscope! Chiron and the South Node are still tightly conjoined, providing a healing balm. Any ancient emotional wounding, replayed in childhood or young adulthood in this lifetime, are still coming up for recognition and healing. Primal fears are included…about connection with Source, and the ability to survive physical demands of this life. Old beliefs around self-sacrifice or loss of boundaries may also be “up”. Venus and Neptune conjoined in Pisces are a nudging us towards a spiritual love that transcends. This is a highly romantic type of love, but one with a strong spiritual or esoteric flavour. Spiritual romance or themes about soul mates, Twin Flames and/or star-crossed lovers will be prominent. Since they’re roughly opposite Jupiter retrograde in Virgo, any relationship you’re currently in, or wanting to be in, will need a more expansive purpose beyond the personal arena. Service to the healing and transformation of the human condition vis-à-vis recreating our masculine-feminine paradigm will be the focus. Mars trine Sun in Aries will provide a sense of renewal, both in a felt sense and in practical ways, but since Mars will keep on moving, it’s more of a jet booster and initiation than a sustained push. Now, Combine Ingredients: Since this Equinox is between the Solar Eclipse of March 8th-9th and the Lunar Eclipse on March 23rd, and because it has echoes in it from last September’s eclipses, I feel that there is a haunting going on…of unfinished business. Last September the Solar Eclipse was at 20 Virgo. This year’s Solar Eclipse on March 8-9 was at 19 Pisces. The Equinox Nodal Axis is at 21 Virgo-Pisces, and holds the energy of both Solar Eclipses. This is quite significant I feel, as it illuminates the theme of service to the Goddess (Virgo), which is synonymous with our planet and our human societal structures. Virgo’s ruler is Mercury, but its role is in the capacity of analysing the needs of the moment, not for self-aggrandizement. Those with their natal Sun in the 6th House, especially if in Virgo or Pisces, are almost over-obsessed with service to others. There has to be a real effort to rebalance all outward concerns with inner nourishment. This is also a Piscean theme about nurturance from the spiritual realms. Within this mixture are the other bookends of the Lunar Eclipse “Blood Moon” of last September 28th and the upcoming one on March 23rd. Now the Aries-Libran theme is activated by the Spring Equinox, just as the pair of eclipses last year was activated by the Fall Equinox. BALANCE is the overriding message…between self and other, and service projected outward versus self-care and nurturing. Extremes aren’t going to work here. Over-devotion or overwork will not produce sustainable results, just as narcissistic pursuits will fail dramatically. With these Cardinal signs juxtaposed with Mutable signs, flexibility is called for. And then, there’s Uranus. We are just about to leave the Uranus-Pluto cycle that commenced in the March 2011. As Uranus moves further and further away from the square to Pluto after next week, his energy will be more free to initiate without the constraints of Pluto in Capricorn. Uranus and the dwarf goddess planet Chaos conjoin exactly in early June, during a very potent Mutable Grand Cross. I feel that the period between this Equinox and the Summer Solstice is pivotal for all of us and the Planet. Uranus will demand freedom…Eris will demand innovation. Together we have the potential for new creation out of chaos. In the outer world we will probably see the reaction to all of these celestial impulses as sudden surprising shifts, breakdowns and breakthroughs. The political, economic and social structures will be very challenged to hold their grip on power. People are awakening, and this Equinox and the upcoming transits will probably assure that not one human being will remain unaffected or unmoved. Although we don’t like chaos and crave certainty, the influences of Saturn in Sag, Chiron and Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo are like a steady hand on the rudder. It will help us make sense out of what looks to be nonsensical. Bake at 350 or until Well Done
To celebrate the Equinox, the mantra or question best utilized would be “Here am I…how can I best contribute?” Real humility is a rarity these days. Perhaps your role is very invisible, or unassuming. Perhaps it will be earth-shaking in scope and reach. I can’t tell. One thing I can say for sure is that the extremism that is evident, whether political, religious or social, is the result of the collective unconscious turning inside-out and revealing itself in our environment. Those beliefs or assumptions that we’ve relied on for so long are being shown to be unworkable and in some cases, simply wrong. Cold Virgoan logic, akin to the Vulcan penchant for mind over emotion, is going to be needed to steer us away from the error of the 1930’s that created fascist movements and global war, a process that in the end, resolved nothing. We now face even greater perils than at that time, and it will take a revolution within our spirituality to create the next evolutionary leap on our world. Serves: Everyone! Go in peace, and enjoy your ceremonies, or quiet meditations and reflections. With Love, Isaac P.S I'll have a blog out by Tuesday morning for the Lunar Eclipse Wednesday. Hang in there!! Soul Mentoring and Evolutionary Astrology Consultations: Isaac George UK: 07875 123406 Ireland: 087 097 8204 Email: archariel@hotmail.com ![]() By Isaac George Dec 24, 2015 Special Full Moon in Cancer on Christmas Day Message Although I did say recently that I wouldn’t be writing so many blogs from a purely astrological perspective (when have I ever?), tomorrow’s Full Moon and the energies surrounding it are worth a few words at least. I have mixed feelings about tomorrow’s Christmas, and here’s why. Personally, it touches me where I live in my own chart in significant ways. It also will be making an impact in the charts of loved ones, friends and clients I have. Because Cancer is THE archetype that deals with emotions, feelings, love and nurturing, there’s really no hiding from the vibrations of the Moon in Cancer – which is raw emotion and the need for security all rolled into one teary-eyed little ball. So, I started to look at the chart for tomorrow…and began to see a pattern. If you have your chart, look for anything in the Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn) between 1 and 6 degrees of sensitivity. You see, I’m really into how things form patterns, and I’ve always been really good with details and also with seeing the big picture those details form. When the big pictures arrange themselves to reveal a pattern, it is telling me there’s a message from Consciousness that is worth paying attention to. I may not quite grasp what the message is at first, but eventually it does reveal itself in some outward event or inward revelation. This is the first Full Moon on Christmas Day since 1977, and so I began my pattern investigation there. Sun was at 3 degrees and 37 minutes of Capricorn, and the Moon at the same in Cancer. Tomorrow’s Full Moon is at 3 degrees and 19 minutes of Cancer, and the Sun at the same degree in Capricorn. As an added kick, tomorrow’s Lunation is at 11:11am. Take that for what you will…but it is a humdinger of a master number. The other two major factors that act as bookends is the Winter Solstice of three days ago, and the planet Uranus stationing to move direct at 16 degrees of Aries this Sunday. I’ll have more to say on Uranus in a moment or three. I’ve attached three charts to this blog. One is for the Full Moon tomorrow (remember, at 3 degrees and 19 minutes of Cancer-Capricorn). The other two are also Full Moons, and both are Lunar Eclipses. For the first Lunar Eclipse of September 28th this year, we have Sun at 4 degrees and 40 minutes of Libra, and the Moon at the same degree in Aries. Next March 23rd, 2016, there will be another Lunar Eclipse in Aries-Libra, with this one 3 degrees and 17 minutes of those signs. Can you see one of the patterns forming yet? Those Sun - Moon degrees are pretty darn close to the ones for tomorrow's chart, just in the other two Cardinal signs. The reason that I titled this blog Christmas Cross is based on simple geometry. Whenever there is a Full Moon, or Lunar Eclipse, the Sun and Moon are opposing each other. This then forms a cross at 90 degree angles in the sky that are defined by two vacancies. In this case, the other two Cardinal signs in Fire and Air – Aries and Libra. Oppositions of planetary bodies create dynamic tension…a call to balance something. When it’s the Sun and Moon, something is brought to light, or to awareness, so that an evolutionary choice can be made. With Lunar Eclipses, the effects can last six months or even a little longer. We are still under the influence of the September 28th Lunar Eclipse at 4 Aries and 4 Libra. So, in a very unique way, tomorrow’s Full Moon is Phase 2 in a set of three Lunations involving the Cardinal Signs. My point being, we are in a pattern unfolding in time/space. In traditional astrology Cancer represents the nurturing Mother, and Capricorn the responsible Father. That this Full Moon is falling on Christmas Day, and near a Pagan holiday (Solstice) is significant on its own. We may take advantage of such energies to bolster our sense of all the things that Cancer and the 4th House represent: Family, home, hearth, belonging and traditions. Opposing this in a balancing act, is Capricorn, which embodies our work in the world, how we are responsible in our society, tribe or social grouping, and how we are seen, or would like to be seen, by others and peers. While Cancer-Capricorn may be seen to be inclusive in a quasi-collective way, Aries and Libra are ultimately a more personal game. It’s me, and it’s you...the Other. The patterns I wish to bring to your attention are that tomorrow’s Full Moon will have a definite feel-good factor, at least on the surface. Underneath, all manner of review and revelation may be going on. Review of beliefs based on emotional decisions in the past. Or sentimental attachments we haven’t acknowledged before, and we npw may see them in a new light, and maybe they just don’t work for us like they once did. Disillusionment may creep in amongst the presents, egg nog and tinsel. It may be the holiday of Christmas itself that will be seen as possibly outworn and superficial. Perhaps we need a new understanding about why we gather together to ward off the darkest and shortest day of the year, then as the ancient pagans did, uncork the darkness with feasts, torchlight and merriment to celebrate the return of the Sun’s light and longer days. Perhaps, just perhaps, our modern Christmas just isn’t doing it for us anymore. For some of us the Christmas holidays have been challenging. Our interpersonal interactions with relatives or spouses have been an occasional battleground. I remember well how a minor argument in the kitchen became a major funk over the dinner table. Hurts can go deep this time of year. For others who have no family to be with, there are immense loads of grief and depression to deal with. There can be a longing for the warmth of family, no matter what slights weren’t pardoned in the past. We have a deep need to belong, and tomorrow’s Full Moon will highlight that significantly. The Sabian Symbol for the Moon tomorrow at 4 Cancer is: "A CAT ARGUING WITH A MOUSE" KEYNOTE: An attempt at self-justification. We are still involved in the results of an act which brought about a radical reorientation of one's life. The drives of the bio-psychic organism are still not easily conquered. A multitude of lesser decisions inevitably follows the big and grand gestures of repudiation and realignment. The desires of the body still drown the voice of the "new man." One argues with oneself, hoping to convince oneself that the old impulses are still legitimate. (from The Astrological Mandala) True, this argument may occur entirely in the heads of some folks tomorrow, but what it points to is the triggers from the Sept.28th Lunar Eclipse (How I see Self and Other) and the one coming up in March 2016....triggers about responsibility (or obligations), lovableness, and self worth. This trinity of lunations is designed to help us see the unconscious patterns based on beliefs that we have held about ourselves, our relationships, families and societies. In fact, many are actually inherited perspectives that are perhaps no longer viable for our evolution, whether individually or collectively. What’s also worth noting is that in the September 28th chart, the Moon is in Aries, and the Sun is in Libra. In the March 23, 2016 chart, they are reversed, with the Moon in Libra, and the Sun in Aries. Patterns everywhere. There are some other aspects that support the Full Moon setup, most of them positive, but other astrologers have gone over those in detail already, so I won’t do that here. Now for the last element… Uranus will be sitting still (stationary) from at precisely 4:11am UT on Christmas morning until he leaves the starting gate precisely 48 hours later at 4:11am UT on December 27th. He is the first present to be spotted under the Yule tree. A planet stationary, either before the beginning of a retrograde cycle or at the end of one, is at its most potent level. Uranus has been retrograde since July 27th. All that energy of liberation of the Self has been directly inwardly…creating a head of steam. At 16 degrees plus of Aries, Uranus will now be within two degrees of transiting Pluto, in a square configuration we’ve known since early 2012. This will get tighter in early January. As always, I have no idea what may happen with Uranus in this mix, as Uranus will always surprise, but never disappoints. Something’s got to give, and Uranus is the instigator of change. From a purely positive perspective, this will be like a rocket igniting, so take full advantage of the time between the 27th of Dec. and January 6th when Mercury goes retrograde to use your imagination to envision your dreams, goals and aspirations! And, let them go just as quickly, because you won’t know what can happen until you do let them go. Uranus isn’t sentimental…he create changes. He evolutionizes! In summary, I would say that there is every possibility that Christmas will come off without a hitch. Everyone will be satisfied, or not. The question for you, my readers, is what you base real fulfilment on. Is it someone else’s idea of what you should be, do or have? Or is it yours? Unwrapping the present of your real and true dreams and hopes may be the best gift you get this year. To those most dear to my heart, and to all my friends and clients, I sincerely wish you all loads of happiness, peace, health, wisdom, prosperity and joy both now, and in the year ahead. As the comedian W.C. Fields once quipped, “Ahh, Philadelphia. I spent a year there one night.” Now I know what he meant by that, and indeed, so much happens each day, if not each hour, I am hard-pressed to call any part of this reality “normal” any longer. Since my last post I’ve continued my shamanic metamorphosis within and without. The breakthrough I had regarding my “calling” or career continues to unfold one deliciously slow bit after another. Perhaps too slowly for my taste, but I have come to accept that one my main lessons this year has been the learning how to have the patience of Job. I’ve had to learn to do this in respect to a personal situation, but in the end, whatever we think we are doing is first and foremost about ourselves. As most of you know, two days after November 11th, on Friday the 13th, a wave of violence shook the capital of France. The following day I stumbled onto an image of a scanned article about the heart. I got curious so began to read it. I’ve included the original image here, just as I found it. I posted it on my Facebook profile first. A friend in Dublin picked it up and shared it. I started to notice the Likes, Shares and Comments about an hour later. I then made the image my personal Facebook page banner. I then visited Amazon.co.uk to see if they had the book quoted in the image (Love and Survival by Dean Ornish MD). I noted that there were about 45 copies of it available, and made a note to come back and check for used copies later in the week. By the end of the first week there was one used copy left, which I ordered. By Sunday morning the combined totals of both posts showed over 800 Shares, 200 Likes, and about 100 Comments. Here in the midst of the aftermath of the terror attacks in Paris, this message about the heart and compassion was hitting a real nerve with the Facebook audience. Here we are almost 30 days later, and the tally is: 18,322 Shares, 2,718 Likes, 185 Comments. What this says to me is this; never ever underestimate the value of the human heart, and the power of its coherence to heal. It reminds me again of a quote from the author Niamh Clune, who wrote “The Coming of the Feminine Christ” – “Only through the awakened heart, can the apocalypse be averted.” Over the course of the intervening weeks since that fateful day in Paris, we have seen the predictable political reaction and over-reaction. Britain’s Parliament voted overwhelmingly to enter into a multi-part conflict that may well create blowbacks and reprisals. Everywhere there is paranoia and anxiety. The cortisol levels on the planet have risen, as have the need for medication and reassurance. Over the past 10-15 days solar activity has increased, volcanoes have erupted, and storms have brought severe flooding to the British Isles, and unstable weather elsewhere. In my personal life there’s been some tectonic movements as well, and only my trust in the wisdom of uncertainty sustains me at times. As I understand it just now, the pressures that we perceive to be external are the evidence of massive internal pressures to evolve. These pressures are multidimensional and multi-lateral. The energies of the Cosmos filter into our awareness in the form of astrology. The convulsive awakening of the planet, and the living intelligence that created and governs Her is pushing us this way and that. Our own souls are rebelling against eons of cultural and religious bondage, and in the mad rush for freedom the accumulated wounds of all those ages are now becoming more conscious and demanding our unfettered attention. At times it might feel like you’re being backed into a corner. In actuality, we are being shown the open door of our all too familiar prison cell. The cosmic weather for this Friday’s New Moon is worth a mention…as it’s a dark Moon in Sagittarius. Mars faces off with Uranus, and until the 13th or 14th the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I refrain from going into a long bout of astro-babble, as I wish to focus on the energy and what to do with it. The chart is posted below so you can see where it may touch you in your particular blueprint. Look for anything in 17 to 21 degrees of Mutable Signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius) as the hot spots. Uranus will be at 16 Aries, Chiron at 17 Pisces, so they’ll be in play too, as the Sun and Moon will be squaring Chiron and trine to Uranus, with Mars still opposing Uranus, so the Sun/Moon will be sextile to Mars. Remember the trines and sextiles are mostly harmonious and squares and conjuncts tense, and oppositions too…but not always. I love how my astrological buddy Jim Buss describes squares as “mastery through challenge.” Sounds a whole lot more positive, don’t you think? The predominant energy for this New Moon is dig in, find out what it is that you want for Christmas, write out your List for Jolly Old St. Nick, and file it under your Best Loved Hopes and Dreams for 2016. Add a caveat…”only that which is for my highest good, and the highest good of all concerned.” Remember, this isn’t about perpetuating the greed and error of the wounded Masculine nature (patriarchy/hyper-capitalism), which knows no gender discrimination. Instead, think of Abundance is having just enough to share! Try to treat this process as if you were issuing a command, not just a request. In order to co-operate with Mr. Universe, it helps to imagine you as part of a team with the Coach, not part of a hierarchy with a top-down organization. I also recommend sprinkling your wish list with gratitude and a huge sense of curiosity, instead of an attitude of “do this, or die trying.” There ya go, now have some fun!! The only other thing this New Moon will be good for is…truth and honesty. Oh, “those things” you say. Yep. Sag’s LOVE truth (and stretching it :-)), and seek for it constantly. But with the dark moon in Jupiter’s penchant for veracity, I see this as thorough examination inside about your beliefs and cherished pets. No wiggling out of this one. The energies of the past two weeks haven’t been a walk in the park, and you might be pretty frazzled, but this is mega important. What will you need to do now to finally let go of those beliefs and brainwashing? Yes, you thought you needed to hang on to them in order to fit in and survive, but…what if you remove the belief that this or that obligation or whatever is sacred, then what? You certainly don’t want to be dragging a ball and chain into the Christmas Season. Someone may mistake you for old Bob Marley, the ghost of Christmas Past. How embarrassing! Please avoid a stocking full of coal and ditch what no longer serves you. There are better things to come. In closing, this Christmas has Full Moon in Cardinal signs, and it happens just a day or so ahead of Uranus leaving its long five months in retrograde captivity. I’ll focus on that later, but suffice it to say that it could be a very interesting time between now and the year’s end. The Winter Solstice arrives at 4:48 UT on December 22nd, followed by the Full Moon at 3 degrees, 19 minutes of Cancer. This could be a highly emotional time between now and then. Allow it, and use it to nurture yourself. Remember that others are probably also feeling a lot of feelings. This Christmas, give the very best, and give of your presence and heart-love…to yourself, to those you care deeply for, and for total strangers, wherever you may encounter them. I overheard a middle-aged man tell his lady friend at a café how he was exhausted and emotional. Yes!! He admitted his feelings right there in public, and it was well received by his friend. I commented, and he was very appreciative to have another guy support his honesty too. So, reach out to others, and you will be supported in turn. If you aren’t feeling supported, muster the effort to tell someone. Reach out, and someone will be there to receive you as well. Anyone who you might know that is having a rough time, tell them, “Hey, I love you. Is there anything I can do?” Someone else will do the same for you, and will say “I’ll be there, no kidding!” Not to be confused with sentimentality, this is the core of our real human and spiritual selves…to be there to give aid and comfort when needed. This Christmas could be something really different, because of you. In which case, it will be really different, for you. I invite you to watch and dance to one of my favorite songs (see below) from my teenage years. It may not be seasonal, but we can make it so…just this once. Hey…I’ll be there. I will reach out, and if you reach out to me, you can count on me. I promise I’m telling you the truth…always. And in all ways. Ahh, the Mystery of the Paradox. Life will continue beyond this Full Moon/ Lunar Eclipse/Blood Moon/Harvest Moon, and there will still be unfinished business to attend to over the next six months…or longer. Depending on your perceptions and situation that may sound like welcome or unwelcome news. However, the bottom line as I feel it is this is just another alarm clock ringing to wake us all up. The ringing of the village church bell did the same for folks long before there were clocks, and in the Far East it might have been the drone of Tibetan trumpets. Nonetheless, the call to awaken is happening. I liken an eclipse to the ringing of large bell, and the tone and harmonics takes a while to die away. There will be another striking of that large celestial bell next March, which could be considered a future bookmark to the one coming up tomorrow in the U. S., and early Monday morning in Asia and Europe. A bookend holds a book up. A bookmark holds a place for you in the book where you've finished a section or chapter, and you intend to return to it at a later time. A completed cycle is like a pair of bookends holding up the book or books. The real bookend event is the upcoming end of the Nodes of the Moon traveling through Libra and Aries. There's a beginning, in this case March 20th-22nd of 2014, and there's moment of crossing the finish line, which will occur around October 10th, 2015, when they move into Virgo and Pisces. The celestial bookmark moment will be with this Total Lunar Eclipse, and the next one will be the Annular (Partial) Lunar Eclipse on March 23rd, 2016. (See attached charts below) Much has already been written about this "Blood Moon" so I won't revisit the points already made by many very good fellow astrologers. I certainly have stepped back a bit about this one being the big Ending of everything that has transpired in our relationships over the past 18 to 24 months. I also don't buy into any apocalyptic scenarios. Some are speculating that it may have something to do with Ascension and Wave X. There is an increase of anomalous events and experiences, of that there is no question. I've had missing time, even a missing day, and my visual and auditory senses are shifting and changing. Perhaps Wave X has come, maybe gone, or is out to lunch. Hard to speculate whether this or that date or event is the Big Deal. Personally, I'm not too keen any longer on there ever being such a thing. It's a process, and even though it feels like acceleration, it is still an evolutionary process. At least that's the way it appears and feels to our filters. ![]() In 1997 I was an avid listener of the Art Bell syndicated radio show "Dreamland" in the United States. He penned a book with another writer called "The Quickening", and many predictions about ascension and mass awakenings were foretold for the years 2000 and 2001. What we got instead was a fizzle for the supposed Y2K "millennium bug", followed by the 9/11 attacks, and then the War on Terror. Astrologers were watching and reading other signs of the times before this, and the upcoming Saturn - Pluto opposition clearly indicated that the "party like its 1999" (Prince) was not going to continue into the next decade. We are also still currently under the influence of the Uranus-Pluto cycle, and this Eclipse transpires with four planets in retrograde: Neptune, Chiron, Mercury and Uranus. This tends to color the game a bit, especially with Mercury in Libra. That "other" event, the End of the Mayan calendar in December 2012, may actually be evident in the breakdowns (and some breakups) happening. So perhaps that was the real deal...and it'll just take a long time to unravel. I feel that what this Eclipse challenges us about is to foster cooperation and partnering and and to consider it from a whole new level of Consciousness. Saturn and Pluto are direct, and for the time being Saturn is in the "too early" degrees to make much of a dent in the current energies. He'll be more of a factor by early December. In the meantime, what can we do with this opportunity? The Sun and Moon are at 4 degrees of Libra and Aries, and yes, they are very close to the North and South Nodes of the Moon, which are at the Super Galactic Center Zero Degree, or World Axis degree. But close only counts in horseshoes, and I defer to the new Eclipse season in March 2016 as the possible final reckoning for what we've been experiencing thus far this year and in 2014. My mind wants to parrot what many others have been saying, as in whatever was happening with you and any significant "others" during the transit of the Nodes in Aries -Libra (and the Venus Retrograde this past summer) then that's it, done and dusted, kiss it all bye-bye. Hmmm… not so fast. We are human beings. We have a need to relate. We are dependent upon each other as we are for sunlight, water, an oxygen rich atmosphere and good topsoil. Yes, we love our independence and freedom, but without anyone to share it with, we would start to feel like the character Tom Hanks played in the movie Cast Away. His only friend was a volleyball he named Wilson. What I feel this Eclipse is about is a call to reassess our relationship to Human Relationships (and lots more!). Too often we reject the unknown for the known, thinking it's the more practical or pragmatic route. Sometimes we go to an extreme in the other direction, and become lost in the "Other", or in the ideal of Love. Somewhere in the middle there may be a sweet spot, a place where magic and romance can meet practicality and sustainability. Goodness knows that we still have a lot of clean-up work to do around the baggage of hurt we share individually and collectively in affairs of the heart. We are told not to lose our head in love and relationships, but too often that is exactly what needs to happen, because all of our stories and associated emotions are bound up into one big protective ego dance. ![]() A week ago I stumbled across this image on Facebook that I felt initially attracted to, perhaps because of a recent personal experience with someone I feel very close to. Inside my head, I could hear my wounded little not-self egging me on, saying "yeah, so and so has the wrong heart…just blow that off!" When I looked at again I realized what I was engaged in, and immediately saw that the image and its message was like someone else's pain trying to divide my love for this person and turn it into a judgmental hate. I've been seeing a lot of these types of messages lately, and they're dressed up to sound like they are encouraging our sovereignty and designed to get us out of victim consciousness. However I feel that there is message underneath, trying to drive wedges between people by creating mistrust and fear. It certainly plays well to our old wounds and hurts...creating reactions instead of healing. Perhaps we are just all trying too hard to be strong all the time, and now it's being exploited. By who or what isn't the point here, so I'll leave that for the Reader to ponder for now. When I finally commented on this image in the Facebook post, I wrote: "There are no wrong hearts... only confused ones. And they ache to be loved too." As I was writing this blog, I also stumbled on to this article about our personal and interpersonal need to belong, to connect. According to the author, Bethany Webster, our primary need is to feel connected and attached to others. Bonding is the fabric that is so important in many mammalian societies. Dolphins are one example, and Bonobo chimps are another. Our drive to individuate is normal and healthy, but there are caveats. The so-called "war" between the sexes is one of the wedges that preys on our separation anxieties…separation from Source, from our birth mother, from Nature, and from each other. Disconnection, or the strategy of divide and conquer, is at the heart of most religions (us versus "them") and political systems (liberals versus conservatives). Our penchant for labels and naming has landed us in branding hell, and now we sense that all is not as it was intended to be. Click to read the full article: http://womboflight.com/2015/09/25/raw-open-and-real-moving-from-traumatic-aloneness-to-universal-oneness/ ![]() What all this has to do with the Eclipse tonight/tomorrow, and the road ahead, is that I feel that our need for connection and our need for honoring and cultivating new beliefs and behaviors in our relationships is inexorably bound up with the call to pay attention to the much bigger issues facing us as a species. Is our economic model sustainable, and will we avert ecocide in time? Can we cast aside enough of our isolationist and egocentric tendencies that we come to actually care for the strangers in our midst? This may be what part of the Syrian refugee crisis is about. One thing feels certain…we only are given a certain amount of time to align in collaboration with the Planetary Evolutionary (and Cosmic) impulse before higher laws and powers overtake us and force changes necessary for planetary survival. Note that I don't necessarily include us in that prerogative, but I heartily enjoin us to consider what will happen if we choose to continue as we have been. The Chinese have a saying - "if you don't change your direction, you'll end up where you're headed." Or, something like that. The microcosm and the Macrocosm are infinitely linked…as within, so without, and as above, so below. How we respond to our current individual challenges and the challenges in our relationships, and our response to the global questions I stated above will determine our individual and collective journey ahead. This Eclipse is one of the bookmarks. Yes, some relationships may have to end in order for a change of belief to occur - or a change of belief must occur in order that the right people can line up to create a new paradigm on many levels. The change of the Nodal Signs is one of the bookends. The next chapter will be read and hopefully understood by next March. We have the time just now, but do we have the trust, will courage and love to do what is necessary? We don't need to trash the people that we've loved or let go of people we care about with rancour or in a vengeful way. What we desperately need though is to let go of the beliefs, wounds, attitudes and suspicions that poison our perceptions and erode the Love that we are, and that gave birth to our existence. Whatever this Eclipse may mean to you, it certainly represents another clearing being made in order for us to claim the opportunities that lie ahead. Knowing is the science of faith, and with Saturn in Sagittarius for the next few years, our faith and beliefs will be tested. Joy and love are the main ingredients for successfully embracing the healing being offered in these times. It will be the joy of letting go of what no longer serves while loving ALL of you, no matter what you think about your stuff. That goes double about how you perceive the reflections of all the other souls around you. Be gentle with them, and with yourself because Sun in Libra is the ultimate balancing act.
