This month the astrological energies are deceptively quiet.  What I mean by that is that certain stressful aspects that we have been experiencing are ending.  Mars is now out of the sign of Taurus, and into the sign of Gemini.  Tongues will wag ever more vigorously…so watch the volume of conversations, and arguments, increase.  The exact first square between Uranus and Saturn is now a waning (weakening) square…until June 15th anyway. Neptune has now entered the third decan, the last 10 degrees of any sign.  But Neptune in the sign of Pisces is doubled up in the last 10 degrees of Pisces…it is Piscean themes exponentially amplified.  This is the tricky realm of mirages, phantoms, and illusion. It is the mixing of the lower astral dimensions with our own.

How to utilize these energies are also a bit tricky.  We have the Spring Equinox coming up on Saturday, March 20th, and the Sun moves into Aries.  It should feel like a rambunctious and ribald time of celebration, renewal, and the rising of the sap of Life.  However, in many parts of the world we are still under a lockdown, so the pressure to break out, break free, move about and congregate will run up against strong opposition from the Saturn in Aquarius crowd.  We may feel ever more like we have one foot on the brake pedal, while pushing down hard on the accelerator pedal at the same time.  The tires will be squealing and smoking, but we will not be able to move very much…yet.

The world continues to be herded into a virtual dystopia, just to conduct business and have some semblance of a social life.  This will begin to wear paper thin as the month progresses.  Nature’s siren song will lure us more into the out-of-doors, more into a sense of risk-taking and adventure encouraging dancing in the organic light of our Sun.  That is natural.  What is unnatural is continuing to be forced into an interaction with artificial light, in our phones, our mobile devices and our computers.   The contrast may become so acute that something will have to give.  The period between March 10th, when the Sun and Neptune meet, up to the Equinox on the 20th.  It is especially delicate, and precipitous time, as it traverses the fabled 15th of March, the Ides of March mentioned in Will Shakespeare’s tale of power and hubris.

One area that will be very affected by all of this is in the arena of money (Uranus in Taurus) and social control (Saturn in Aquarius).  Will we allow ourselves to be seduced by rising stock prices, inflated cryptocurrency trading, and get-rich-quick schemes?  All this fervour is being fuelled by the economic dislocations exacerbated by the pandemic (so-called).  Meanwhile the elite’s fortunes rise to the stratosphere, while individuals struggle with paying off debt, paying the rent of mortgage, or simply to put food on the table. Governments create even more debt (quantitative easing = printing money) and now the tax increases are coming, to reduce the deficits brought on by the health crisis.
 
It is like going to a Las Vegas casino with $20 and believing that you can beat the house. As Jimi Hendrix sang, “…castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually.”

I would be remiss if I also did noty make mention of that fact that our Sun is waking up.  A new Solar Maximum cycle has begun, and we are in a strong solar wind stream.  Two CME's also have affected our planet's magnetic field, creating geomagnetic storms.  If you have been having disturbed sleep, weird dreams, and emotional ups and downs, now you understand why.  Do not panic, breath through it. It is here to help us. 

My prescription for this month?  Act where you can and do so with a clear head.  Come clean with yourself about any part of your life where you are just “settling” for the sake of survival.  As an individual and sovereign child of Spirit, who values personal choice and personal responsibility, you must make your own way, and hold fast, even as the pressure of groupthink or social conformity hold out a false security to you.  I am in a musical mood, so Peter Gabriel’s lyric from his days with Genesis come to mind: “You better not compromise; it won’t be easy.”

Focus on the beauty in you and around you.  Remember that the spark of the Divine is at the core of all that is.  Be open to the pleasures of being embodied and stop controlling and repressing your life force energies.  Fear contracts, love and acceptance expands. The bio-electric charge in all of Nature, what the scientist Wilhelm Reich referred to as orgone energy, is the natural place to trust in.  When you trust yourself, you are announcing your trust in Spirit, in Nature, and in Life Itself.   You cannot be controlled, unless you give permission to allow it.

Most of all, be aware of the glamours that are all around you, giving false promises of safety and inclusion, economic and travel security in exchange for your birth right of freedom.  That birth right is inherent, and no law, document of government can grant it to you. You were born with it, and it pre-existed this lifetime, and will be with you always.

Where is your treasure? If it is in the silence of your heart, then trust that, and all is well.

        If you are reading this, perhaps you’ve always had a deep and unresolved yearning to know the “truth” about everything. Or, maybe you’ve just had some hard knocks in your life recently, and nothing is making much sense to you now. No matter how you slice it, the reality is that there are very few people who are self-actualized on this planet, who are successful according to society’s definitions, and don’t seem to have a care in the world. 

         According to a report issued last spring by the World Health Organization (WHO) depression is now a major pandemic affecting millions worldwide, and it’s increasing with each passing month. Even the famous and successful actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has recently admitted that he was so depressed as a teenager after his mother attempted suicide that he was crying all the time, and he now urges men to open to their real feelings.           It’s not farfetched to think that we’re not really standing on solid ground any longer. The old beliefs, institutions, and explanations around our reasons for being alive and on this planet don’t cut it anymore, and as a species we are more stressed out, disconnected and yearning for meaning than ever before. Solstice Greetings,

This week is a significant one. It started off with G1 geomagnetic storm and the New Moon at the degree of the Galactic Center (26 degrees of Sagittarius), and it will finish with the Sun moving from Sagittarius into Capricorn on Friday. Of course, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day follows, but today through the end of this week is where the main action is happening, along with two other noteworthy elements: the end of the current Mercury retrograde, and big daddy Saturn changing signs and moving into its own domain of Capricorn.

It’s intriguing how much more awareness there is now around the various influences that affect our consciousness in our lives. Our psyches do have to contend with so much in our modern post-industrialized world, especially versus our even recent ancestors from 250 years ago. From the impact of the Internet and social media, to the disintegration and breakdown of political, economic, religious, social structures everywhere. Our ecological crisis is one that is also at play just now, and which will vie for more of our attention as the years pass.

While living on this planet we are facing earthly, astrological, and cosmic influences that are always around us and involved in our evolutionary condition, physical or otherwise. I also must include the “hidden” influences from interdimensional and hyper dimensional realms, and those that populate them. This does not imply that any influence is either entirely bad or good. Some are helpful, and others less decidedly so. We also can view such phenomena from either a victim perspective, or as one empowered to change our individual destiny. We may even to bend and break some of the accepted rules or beliefs, even so-called cosmic laws.

There are limits however, to what is ours to change, and what need to surrender to. If we hang on too tightly to anything, it can become another loop, destined to replay itself in some other way or lifetime, until we learn the lesson and integrate it. Essentially, that’s the nature of this level of “reality”. I call it the Loopy Looper effect. If you’ve experienced some déjà vu on some issue from your past cropping up repeatedly, you know what I mean. It also validates the adage: “history repeats itself.”

To acknowledge the power of certain cyclic loops is useful – if you understand that they are just that…markers in the time continuum. Although cycles are part of the realm of Nature, try to look at those cycles as a spiral moving upwards, or at least sideways through space and time…like a wormhole. This differs somewhat from the loopiness that humans unconsciously create. The difference is that the planet is also alive, sentient and auto-poetic. Auto-poetic means to have the ability to dream or emanate into manifestation an intent or thought. We also possess this gift, but usually our personality gets fixated in separation and survival mode, and we miss the greater possibilities and potentials for using the gift for wisdom and self-knowledge in service to all life. That’s another story though.

The Solstices are markers in the spiralling cycle, as are the Equinoxes. They are congruent and harmonious points in by which balance is maintained. Equilibrium is the primary function of all energy systems. Therefore, the Law of Attraction must function in tandem with the Law of Repulsion. And Enlightenment isn’t so much a goal as it is a state of beingness that is at the still point or balance. It arises as a natural outcome of making the shadow, our “endarkenment”, conscious. The veils are dissolved, and we just “know” what there is to know. By the way, this truth is given a high priority in the latest film in the Star Wars saga, so if you go see it, watch, and listen closely.

The Winter Solstice is oft called the “return of the Light” because the shortest of days is reached, and then the days of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere get longer until the time of the Summer Solstice. Astrologically and in the pagan lore it is the preparation time for the planting of new seeds next spring.

The Winter Solstice in this year has a few new wrinkles to it. Saturn, Lord of Time, Cause and Effect, Limitation and Matter enters its rulership in Capricorn until December 2020. Capricorn represents organizations: governments and institutions, banking, economics, rules, and regulations of all types. The last time Saturn was at 0.00 degrees of Capricorn was November 1988. If you were alive then, what was happening at that time for you? What was in the headlines?

The other new wrinkle to watch for will occur next May when Uranus leaves Aries and enters another Earth sign – Taurus. What all this will feel like for the next six months is a kind of weaning (whether voluntary or not) from virtual reality mechanisms, social media, digital domination, and any airy-fairy spiritual bypassing. In other words, the message is “get real!” The pushback by carbon-based oxygen breathing organic souls (us) against the Silicon Gods is already in motion, and it will gain momentum. That’s the first awakening of 2018. Old leaders, idols and false heroes will be exposed and fall. The golden calf will be found out, and its counterfeit.

Taking responsibility is also a Saturnian theme. However, our human conditioning is loaded with the guilt-driven forms of responsibility we were brainwashed with from childhood. Some of this brainwashing is also evident in spiritual and religious programming as well. Obeying all the rules and never questioning anything will always end up in a blind alley. Uranus in Taurus will guarantee that never happens. We are invited to delve into the higher levels of meaning of the word responsibility.

The responsibility I’m speaking to here is about being responsible about your awakening process, and assisting others to awaken from the false light and fear that is rampant on this planet. It’s a process, and no one can predict the timeline nor the possible outcomes. We can only take responsibility for what is reasonable and fair to ourselves and those within our vicinity. Break it down: Response-ability. We best learn our mastery through our failures. The ability to respond to failures is the seed of real success.

We are luminous beings of Light, and our souls are truly innocent. However, I feel that the word “soul” is been bandied about heavily over the last half decade, and over-used by folks to re-brand their online businesses, etc. The words “god” or “Spirit”, and even “goddess” has faded into the background. Why? Perhaps we are a bit too over-focused on our psyche, self-reflecting on what our soul wants, or the traumas our souls remember and struggle to resolve, even though it may not be the highest source of wisdom and guidance available. The end of our innocence isn’t about losing our innocence as it is about losing our naivete’. We can no longer prevent, avoid or delay waking up fully, and seeing those things we don’t want to look at, whether outside of us or within us.

The exposure of sexual predation recently is only one “tip of the iceberg” of the spiritual and psychic predatory agendas that have kept humanity in victimhood, separation, and fear for thousands of years. The hidden can no longer be hidden. It’s symptomatic of the end of this cycle, the Kali Yuga or whatever, and the potentiality of a different outcome arises each day when we arise, and choose differently. The power of choice is what I began these December blogs with. When we merge our power of choice with our divine instincts, then that alignment will assist us to emanate and actualize our ideal next steps in this experience.

I suggest that your desires, intentions, wishes and dreams all carry the caveat “for my highest and best good, and the highest and best good of all.” Stay balanced and grounded and find the still point within when the times get crazy.

Just remembered something that the American sleeping prophet and seer Edgar Cayce said: “If you can still pray, then you’re in good shape. If you can’t pray, then you are really in trouble.”

About six weeks into the year 1994 I had some extraordinary events conspire to create an equally extraordinary experience that literally and figuratively changed my life. The esoteric version is that what seemingly happened to me was a classic case of a phenomena known in certain shamanic traditions as “being touched by the gods.” In the Hindu tradition it’s known as a kundalini awakening. According to Stanislav Grof, M.D (who developed the Holotropic Breathwork technique), it falls into a classification he refers to as “spiritual emergency, or emergence”. No matter what label one assigns to a massive and sudden shift in perspective (and one’s previous life circumstances) the actual experience is completely unhinging and full of unknowns. Within two months my wife at that time insisted that I go in for some sort of mental health help. This felt a bit embarrassing to me at first, but my newfound inner voice said to go with it.

During the next three months as this paranormal shift deepened, I launched into an investigation of my psyche and emotions. I saw my primary psychologist once, or sometimes twice a week. She also recommended I join a men’s group at the facility. The facilitator of this group had a pet saying to encourage us when we felt overwhelmed or became less than satisfied with our ‘progress’.

“The journey is the accomplishment”, he would intone, and suddenly the pressure would lift, and be replaced with a spaciousness that was remarkable. Within that spaciousness we became observers of our constantly shifting set of feelings, thoughts and perspectives. Of course, an hour or two later, back in the real world, some of this lucidness would succumb to the demands of life, but the effects became accumulative. By mid-June my primary therapist had decided to discharge me, as she felt that I’d become competent enough to steer my way forward without tripping up. All during this process, my inner voice would counsel me as well, indicating what was available to share in therapy, while carefully avoiding any of the more profound paranormal or spiritual experiences that may have triggered an intervention by the medical establishment that would be chemical-based. In the end, I felt much better equipped to cope and to move forward, and so I am grateful that I did engage with the psychological services at a time that I now refer to as my 3rd major awakening (and the most profound) of this lifetime.

Over the course of the past few days that spanned the total Solar Eclipse on September 1st I’ve became more acutely aware of the most precious gifts and skills that I have to share and how I can give them to others in a balanced and empowering way. Hopefully playfully as well. As of this writing my awareness is still unfolding organically about what it means, but for someone that has had so many careers, interests and skills over one lifetime, it’s sometimes very challenging to see the core of what it is at any given moment.  Perhaps the most important thing or quality that are unique to one’s own soul is always enticing us to keep going, to push on through to the essential meaning of ourselves. Using this knowing in order to express it in some effective way which can not only impact others positively, but transform one’s own direct experience at the same time, is now the task in front of my nose. The most important thing I feel to share with you here is that we scarcely have much of a chance in these times to take stock of where we are in retrospect with where we’ve arrived from.

We all have a story, a legacy of experience that stretches into the distant past. Our perception of time is the key to how we arrange this story. Our stories are based on experiences in various times and dimensions, and perhaps for some of us, across countless worlds or dimensions. However, to keep it manageable, let’s just engage with our humanness, our earthly sagas. What was revealed to me post-Eclipse this past Thursday was not a concept, idea or philosophy. It was a visceral and immediate knowing about the sanctity and enormity about the struggles, growth and accomplishments I've been through over the past two years or so. Once the full impact of this was unveiled, I saw my whole life from my earliest years stretched behind me, and in a sort of fast-moving vignette I felt the power of my various successes and failures, joys and sorrows, ecstasies as well as times of depression and doubt, and all mingled into this was every person I’ve known and each relationship I’ve been part of. I was humbled...big time.

Waves of compassion for who I am beyond all of this was in harmony with the range of the experiences themselves, and I could begin to understand that these moments, all connected one to another, are the stuff our Souls are made from. We will always carry these memories with us forever, for they have molded and shaped Who We Are. To say there is only the Now is not entirely accurate. The past is still influencing us, and our present is always informing the formation of our futures. In the lyrics of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Future Games’ – “We create the future that we want to face…” So true it is. But without our personal Soul story, our His and Herstory, there is no Big Story within the Cosmos. We may well wonder what is the ultimate purpose of existence considering such a perspective. Perhaps its all just an experiment to explore and experience everything and anything that is possible, in order for us to eventually move to another mode of evolution in which there is even more to create and experience. Possibly. From this brief but powerful series of moments I felt the touch of the Infinite, and how it permeates all of Time, and the deepest most personal spaces inside of each one of us.

Between today as you read this, and the Lunar Eclipse on September 16th we have an opportunity to not just “let go” of what we deem no longer serves us, or which we see as obstacles that may be in the way of where it is we want to go, and who we wish to become. This process has nothing to do with the Moon's cycle, but is related to another one, the Saturn-Neptune square, that last exact moment of which occurs tomorrow. It's lasted almost a year, and has been a real challenge for many.

Perhaps what arises is just the recycled pain, trauma and judgment we have need of reconciling, after which we can then see the greater wisdom of our stories and how we are all heroes and heroines within them -  fearless and eternal…full of love, hopes, dreams and immense aspirations. I certainly desire this feeling I touched and which touched me for all beings, for I found within it the true basis for loving myself unconditionally, and all without any sense of shame or self-centeredness. In fact, it only awakened in me a stronger notion of my purpose and how much I desire everyone else to taste the true freedom they so deserve and desire. The freedom to just be…to just be all of themselves, full stop.

And here’s something that must be said at this juncture. Consider the possibility that all of this just…goes…on. Ad infinitum. Forever. No crossing a finish line or standing in the winner’s circle. No ‘retirement’ from being the being that you are being. How do I know this? I don’t, it's just a guess. However, that’s just part of the Mystery, isn’t it? We’ll get to find out…as we go along. And not one moment sooner. So perhaps the sooner we recognize this, the sooner we can see it’s all an experiment and we’re all just playing around. Or, something like that.

Take some time to reflect these next weeks, on the amazing journey you’ve been on. Take some time for self-appreciation and honoring your journey, and also those with whom you have spent time with during it. Take the time to sit with the enormity of what you’ve overcome or achieved, and have the greatest compassion for all those times you loved, and lost, or tried and failed. There is no such thing as real failure, and no true love is ever lost. Each and every one of our triumphs and our defeats, or good deeds and our mistakes, are indelibly part of the work of Soul Art that you are. Can you love all of it, all of you? We are all called to this most sacred of tasks, for in doing so, we love and honor that which created us from Love Itself.

This is the nugget of all things, and it resides in one eternal precept. The journey is the accomplishment.
