“Stars impel, they do not compel.” – Chaldean Astrology
Being human these days is almost becoming a revolutionary act. The Internet and social media always beckon, our devices and faith in technology tends to obscure the significance of our own biological landscape, and our quasi-divine origins. Enlightenment won’t be found anytime soon in a smartphone, or another meme.
From the astrological perspective, the Show Just Goes On…and on and on. Can’t stop it, or slow it down. If you try, it might just run you over. Tomorrow’s another Full Moon, but it’s more than that. The involved planets and the archetypes are mirroring our predicament, and sheds a big light on some possible solutions. As individuals and as a species our challenges are numerous and obvious. We ignore climate change, water scarcity, and environmental damage and destruction at our own risk. The potential for rapid personal growth and understanding are there too, but it most certainly is tempered by the sobering fact that everything and everyone has an influence on the whole…and vice versa.
The Full Moon is in Taurus and conjoined in the sky with the planet of Love and the Feminine = Venus. She’s in Scorpio and retrograded (turning focus inwards and investigative). Emotions will run high and deep right up to the Full Moon slated to occur at 3:49pm British Summer Time, and 6:49am Pacific Daylight Time. After the zenith of totality is past, the pressure cooker of the past two weeks will begin to lessen.
But wait, there’s more! (see chart below)
Venus is opposed by another retrograde powerhouse – Uranus in Taurus. Since Uranus entered the sign of the Bull in mid-May, he’s been stirring up the fires under the surface, resulting in major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, climate events, and economic ones too. With it opposing Venus and the Moon, and conjunct the Sun at 1 degree of Scorpio, anything goes. It could trigger a surprise, a blessing, or a realization. Loving the Earth and the Natural World may become a sudden epiphany for some. Another manifestation might be a big correction in stock markets, or some ugly confrontation or dirty secret coming to light about the economy, politics, or the environment that may shock or surprise us.
Lastly the Full Moon and Uranus-Venus oppositions are squaring the Nodes of the Moon in Leo and Aquarius. This will activate the need to focus intensely on what is happening in the fullness of NOW! It is a lens through which we see the mistakes of the past and the way to move forwards into the future. With the South Node in Aquarius, it will be about revealing our deep memories of failed Utopian civilizations like Atlantis or Lemuria, and all the wounding and regret they engendered. With the North Node in Leo, it will be a last chance review about how courage, especially spiritual courage centered in the heart, will be the primary way to move forwards with the work there is to do in front of us.
The Nodes will change signs soon too…and move into Cancer and Capricorn in mid-November.
On a personal level relationships both past and current are lit up. So are the core issues karmic and otherwise that are related to our relationships, especially mother-father ones, and archetypal ones (God the Father?) All relating is undergoing pressures to evolve too, and Pluto (Scorpio) is certainly at play here with the Sun and Venus in that sign now.
In summary, no single celestial event has the power to change us. Only we have that within. With the calculations and archetypes involved, my take is that there is a clear message for tomorrow about how we are called to value our humanity more, to see it as truly divine and superior to our technologies. Our predilections, our foibles, even our most disastrous beliefs and mistakes, can’t obscure the potential for love, joy, humour and kindness that we are capable of. Our bodies are more than temples, and our lives are more than dust. We are stardust, and mud, and emotions. We are human beings. We belong here, and we are being called to rise to the challenge of creating a new world from the ashes of the old.

Supermoon in Pisces/The Energy Times
by Isaac George
August 28th, 2015
I've had a lot of surprises in August, but actually, I'm not surprised. In fact, that should be everyone’s standard response for the rest of the year. “Hey, I wasn’t surprised”…or something like that. After Black Monday and Brown Tuesday, and “I Don’t Freakin’ Believe It” Wednesday, a lot of big and small investors around the world are downing antidepressants and alcohol. There’s been a binge crop of solar activity as well. We’ll talk all about that in the Energy Report segment below, but first…
We have a very busy rest of the month, and September has so much happening in it that I will be breaking this up into at least two or perhaps three consecutive reports. It's a right of passage, and we're on the verge of a lot more change and transformation! Look to the bottom of these posts to grab a look at the chart(s) or other supporting evidence pertaining to the content.
The first of three Super Full Moons occurs this Saturday at 19:35 BST in the U.K. A “supermoon” is what occurs when the moon’s orbit is closest to the earth. It’s called a syzygy, which is a vortex of energy that is created by the Moon, Sun and Earth in alignment. When the moon is this close it can distort the tidal motions and the land masses are even slightly affected. Since our bodies and the viscous fluid that our brain floats in is mostly water, our equilibrium and mental and emotional bodies are impacted. This can create unexpected emotional responses, and fuzzy-headed thinking. For some it’ll be like being on drugs.
At the same time as this lunation, and the next one - a partial Solar Eclipse on September 13th, we have to still deal with Pluto, Chiron, Venus Uranus and Neptune in retrograde motion. Saturn also is still playing a big role in the current energies. Here are the dates of note to follow:
August 29th – This Supermoon is at 6 degrees and 6 minutes of Virgo and Pisces. Jupiter conjuncts the Sun and opposes the Moon, and expands the effects dramatically. Neptune is conjunct the Moon, and opposes the Sun, creating even more Piscean blurriness. Think of the word permeability, and you get the idea. No boundaries between you and the light and dark within. Anything that is dark and hidden will be brought into view. There may be an aura of unreality to certain things, a look like a shimmering mirage in the distance. Is it an oasis, or an illusion up ahead? With this much Neptunian dazzle, it may look more like the Twilight Zone or an alternate universe.
The push-pull will be between work, analysing, and feeling practical versus the call of the great wild open Multiverse with all of its feelings, images, visions, and the desire to merge with the expansive realm of unrequited dreams, unconditional love and oneness. Shall we crack on with what’s at hand, or will you just hold me for eternity? This is the nature of oppositions…a tug of war. Oppositions are always a call for balance, a negotiated win-win (hopefully). One of the things to pay heed to: where were you and what you were dwelling on when the Pisces Eclipse occurred on March 20th this year? Perhaps something related to that time will reveal itself to your awareness this time around.
The New Moon on Sept.13th reintroduces more Virgoan themes, but this time the Sun and Moon will oppose retrograde Chiron at 19 Pisces. This will be covered in next week's post.
Helpful Hints: This could be a very emotional time and feel unwelcome, because darn it, you’ve got stuff to accomplish! (Virgo mind stuff). Full Moons are a release point though, so don’t fight it. I recommend grounding (Virgo) and comforting yourself while you witness your feelings. This is an opportunity to merge intuition with intellect…don’t let it slip past you!
September 1st – Mars and Venus go out on a date with Leo: This will be interesting…especially since Venus is still retrograde. She goes direct on the morning of the 7th of September in the U.K., culminating at 14 degrees and 24 minutes of Leo, and right next to Mr. Mars. This is the second conjoined meeting of three this year, with the next one on November 3rd. Check and see if you have anything around 14 plus degrees in your chart in the signs of Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio or Taurus. That’s where the action will be. The call to balance the masculine and feminine principles within us will feel a bit odd with Venus still moving backwards, and the Full Moon just happening and all that. Seems like a hello and a goodbye…a “Strangers in the Night Moment”, or Daniel Day Louis shouting across a battlefield “Stay alive! I will find you!” in Last of the Mohicans. Can’t wait for round 3 on November 3rd!
The other event on this date is Saturn landing on the Anaretic 29th Degree of Scorpio. I’ve been excitedly reading up on what the 29th degree represents in each sign of the Zodiac, and it’s stunning how effective and inescapable it is. According to the medical astrologer Eileen Nauman, this is the Cosmic Hammer. Basically, if you have any planet, major asteroid or angle (Ascendent, Descendent, etc.) at 29 degrees, and a transiting planet, especially one of the outer transpersonal planets (Saturn, Uranus, etc.) makes contact with something in your natal chart when it arrives at the 29th degree, then any unresolved toxic emotions that have to do with the issues of that natal point will be released. You, as an individual, will have no control over this and it is work that must be done…hence the term Cosmic Hammer. It’s like between degrees 0 and 28, you can resist change. But at the 29th degree you no longer have free will or the ability to dictate to your own soul or the Universe. Forces beyond your control rise up to enforce the evolutionary imperative. Something’s gotta give, and the manifestation will appear to be something that happens outside of you that you will have no control over, but whatever it is will change your mind and your direction. By the way, the transiting planet doesn’t have to be a big outer one. The Sun, Mars and Venus have been transiting through the later degrees of Leo, and causing a spectacular ruckus with some folks when they've touched the 29th degree. The Nodes of the Moon are about to leave Aries-Libra, and then it will be at the 29th degree of Virgo-Pisces. Saturn will return to Sagittarius on September 18th, but more on that in the next installment.
NOTE: The permutations or possibilities depends on the planets involved, so if you have anything in your chart at the 29th degree, and want some guidance to decipher what this Saturn transit is going to do in your chart, then contact me post haste. We can set up an Astro Update session to tackle it. Just click here for more information or to book a reading.
September 6th – Venus in Leo goes direct at 14 degrees and 24 minutes at 9:29 am BST on the morning of September 7th in the United Kingdom. This will be a welcome relief for those who have been through some of the toughest relationship challenges of their lives. There have been breakups, temporary get-togethers, reversing of fields, and just plain heartbreak and releasing since July 25th. Actually, Venus entered the shadow phase on June 22nd and the heat has been on ever since. Venus won’t exit the other side of the shadow period until October 9th, so don’t be too hasty to consider anything as a done deal. In fact, any rethinking that has happened during this retrograde that led to any decision-making of major consequence may end up doubling back on itself. The same way that buying a new car under a Mercury retrograde can create problem. Four or five months down the road you may wonder why you bought this lemon, and what you will wonder what it will take to get out from under it. Rash decisions could come back to haunt you, the other, or all parties involved. The past could indeed become prologue in some cases – i.e., what what looked like a final decision now looks untenable and that which was rejected is now embraced. Only time will tell, so please don’t stand still and hold your breath. These things have a way of sorting themselves out for the best good of all.
As Venus exits the retrograde, it forms a quincunx to Pluto in Capricorn and a trine to Uranus in Aries. The quincunx is a tension aspect that could bring some lessons concerning the sharing of power in relationships and the trine could create a need for more autonomy within your current relationship. Both require a redefining of boundaries and freedom.

That’s the wrap up for the astro-events between today and September 9th, but the next issue will cover the New Moon in Virgo on the 13th of September, and Saturn’s ingress into Sagittarius for the next two years, and what that may mean for all of us. View the chart for tomorrow’s Full Moon below.
The Energy Times:
In the last blog, The Kiss, I had a small section devoted to an Energy Report. Beginning with this issue, I am now calling it The Energy Times.
In that issue I mentioned some of the anomalies that I had been experiencing with electronic computing and telecommunications devices and networks. I also noted a distinct uptick in people getting feeling ill or health challenged but ongoing medical testing coming back with mixed or negative results, but symptoms persisting or worsening anyway. In some recent cases seemingly healthy people died suddenly, or those with chronic but non-life threatening situations also died suddenly. The last category that is noteworthy is emotional instability and a rise in lethargy and despair. In early August a number of friends and clients reported feeling like they just felt like giving up or had no idea what in the world to do with themselves. Some folks have been borderline suicidal in some cases. Dizziness, nausea, fainting spells, disorientation, and disorganization also were reported. And, as has been the case for some time now, disrupted sleeping patterns, or bouts of insomnia are widespread.
So in the last issue I invited you, the Reader, to submit anything that seemed out of the ordinary, and I got back some good responses. Reports varied from person-to-person, but overall the consensus on the Internet seemed almost universal. It seems that no matter where one lives, the serviceable speed and bandwidth has degraded noticeably…with no Internet Service Provider able to offer any reasonable explanation or solution. Other symptoms reported are laptops and mobile (cell) phones shutting down and restarting. Erratic message sending or messages and emails that went missing into cyberspace. Hard drives crashing, data missing, and in some cases entire operating systems becoming unstable or inoperable, requiring a reinstallation.
One of my clients forwarded the following dissertation about what might be occurring. It’s entitled “Dis-Equilibrium and the Human Brain” by Sheilagh Durkin. You can download the Adobe PDF of the file below.
My own take on these electronic and communications issues is two-fold. First, Uranus went retrograde on July 27th, and won’t go direct again until December 27th. I feel that Uranus governs things electrical, and when Uranus was in the sign of Aquarius during the 1990’s it showed how influential it was in birthing the revolution in electronic computing and hand-held communications equipment. So, don’t expect things to ease much until after New Year’s Day, when Uranus gets up a head of steam and begins to move forward again. What the lesson might be here is to show us how overly dependent and addicted we’ve become to our gadgets. This recent article focuses on how we're obsessed with mobile computing platforms – click here to view the article.
Another more intriguing factor is geopathic stress. I have been feeling for some time the deep symbiotic connect between the ecosphere of our planet, particularly its electro-magnetic field, and the Sun’s sunspot and CME (coronal mass ejections) cycles. We’re not in a solar maximum cycle, but since late June there have been long periods of geomagnetic storming induced by CME’s and coronal streams of super-charged particles streaming into the upper atmosphere. I’ve heard that some geophysicists are concerned that erratic solar activity is affecting the Earth’s magnetic core, the tides, the gravitational fields, and also our biological functions.
I’m still researching and compiling links and articles and hopefully provide a list in the next issue. Perhaps Gaia’s awakening is getting quiet active, and merits a closer understanding. There is also new data indicating that solar activity is the main driver of our weather patterns, and El Nino’ and El Nina’ in the eastern and central Pacific Ocean. The non-existent summer in Ireland may be by-product of processes involving our Sun we’re just beginning to understand. The solar effects may also extend to the increase in tectonic activity, with larger quakes and more volcanic activity lighting up the headlines for the past three months. People who are electro-sensitive or empathic react to geopathic stress and solar activity, and the symptoms are quite pronounced for some in the emotional and psychological changes they experience. Some exhibit strong physical reactions that feel quite real, but medical testing cannot detect as yet. Perhaps the instrumentation used is still not sensitive enough to register the effects of magnetic fluctuations on the human cellular structures. More to follow in the next issue!
P.S. To underscore the weirdness, a blog of mine from July 15th started appearing in my subscriber's inboxes today, and I have no clue how it happened!
Black Monday Special Report:
Last Monday (August 24th) the world financial markets reacted very negatively to what was happening on the China's stock exchange. It seems that most folks were surprised by the ferocity of how it impacted the other exchanges around the world. I’ve been watching the Chinese exchange since late July when a sell-off began that no one in China could figure out. Steadily the losses climbed…and the Chinese authorities stood by and did nothing. Was it insider trading? Was the Chinese dominance in manufacturing and finance finally overheating and losing forward momentum? The downward spiral continued, and the Chinese central bank did nothing to shore up its currency. However, it did start to quietly sell off U.S.Treasury bonds These bonds are traded by the U.S. government to fund the cash it buys from the Federal Reserve, the American central bank. The money raised from the treasury bonds keeps the U.S liquidity going. They are seen as an investment, with yields calculated over decades in the future based on projected growth. If growth slows down, then the bonds lose value. It is estimated that China has 2-3 trillion dollars worth of U.S. bonds. If it starts selling them in large enough quantities to shore up its own growth and protect the Yuan, then investors will begin to lose confidence and sell off stocks and commodities based on the speculation of a downturn economically. Last week the first wave hit on August 21s, when the U.S. stock index, the Dow Jones lost over 300 points. The next day the losses climbed to 550 plus points. This past Monday panic set in. For interesting perspectives about this, click here and here.
Predictive astrology is a risky business. Nonetheless I am paying attention to what some of the best ones are talking about just now, because a few of them accurately predicted the events of the past 10 days. And they don’t see an end to the bumpy ride either. So I am preparing a three-part series about many interrelated topics for the months of September and October, and they will post independently from the usual astrological reports. Part of this series will be focusing on our current beliefs about money, debt, economics and sustainability and spirituality and how we may be at a crossroads that could force us to dramatically alter our viewpoints about our culture so that we can survive and thrive in a new way on this planet.
Thanks for reading and sharing the Revealing the Mystery Blog, and may your experience of the Supermoon and all the exciting changes be a blessing to you. Hang in there and take good care of yourself.
New Moon in Cancer - July 16th, 2:25 AM BST London, United Kingdom (see chart below)
Well, this is another in a series of lunations that seems to hold so much energy for change at fundamental levels. And this one will go into the record books because of the flyby of Pluto that is revealing so much new data. Our data banks are getting triggered too…read on.
The Sun-Moon in Cancer is all about Love, Nurturing, and warm fuzzies. It is also about SECURITY and the desire for strong, comfortable and stable situations, relationships and surroundings. As you may have noticed, events both personal and planetary seem to fly in the face of real security lately. There are ongoing crises in Greece, the continued destabilization of the Eurozone, of Syria, the Middle East, and other hot spots around the globe. As we focus on the themes of this New Moon, I also would caution against getting too carried away with yourself, or your utopian visions. The polarity of Cancer is Capricorn, and there’s the rub. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and this New Moon loosely trines the ongoing Saturn in Scorpio retrograde. It will be an easy flow of feelings coming up…some from the present moment, but mostly from the past, but with a strength and poignancy that may surprise you.
No matter how one wants to paint this New Moon, the fact is that there are four major players in retrograde right now – Pluto, Saturn, Chiron and Neptune. Uranus and Venus will join the throng around July 25th-26th, and add extra punch to the burn off of extraneous ego stuff. This is where we will really need huge doses of self-Love and self-acceptance. Nothing about our ego needs to be killed off or excluded (just turn down the volume), and all it takes for us to navigate these energies are massive doses of compassion (Sun-Moon in Cancer). The desire to heal and integrate our pain (Chiron) and the strength of the evolutionary impulse (Pluto) will help us to persevere (Saturn) and reach a new level of maturity and interdependence (Uranus). Our vision (Neptune) will become clearer and more easily grasped by this autumn, as each of the outer transpersonal planets gradually returns to direct motion. Saturn is first, on August 2nd, followed by Pluto in mid-September. There will be Love, and after the tears we will understand what all of this was for.
The Sun-Moon square to Uranus and the dwarf planet Eris will stimulate our desire to finally begin the process of jettisoning any structures or forms we have felt enslaved by or beholden to. If it doesn’t feel like fun, it probably isn’t, so time to move away from that which no longer floats your boat and has started to feel like an obligation without end. We all know what happens if we sit on a dime for too long…the Universe, or your own Soul, will drive the point home a bit more emphatically, or rearrange things so that it becomes imperative to change the situation…or leave it. Sometimes a shift in perspective does the trick, but in this case, the evolutionary calling is to dissolve most, if not all, of the old forms. What is being called for here is what is sustainable, not for what is just profitable.
Finally, Venus will enter Virgo briefly, make a weak aspect to the Nodal Axis, and then go underground (retrograde) for 40 days in Leo. The Venus retrograde is a review about our values and connections with personal relationships. Or, our values might be something as mundane as considering to redecorate a room in your home, or do some landscaping in the garden. However, interpersonal relationships will be on the brain and in the heart, whether there is something tangible going on not.
Hard to pin this one down, but if something needs to be ended, it will end. If something needs healing and reconciliation so that moving forward together is then possible, it will occur now. If something karmic is up, it will find expression. And, something new may possibly show up that was unexpected! However, under a retrograde, a new relationship may become a real challenge or take you on a roller-coaster ride before flinging you overboard. Be cautious – there may be some shady characters that show up to teach you a real lesson in discernment! The retrograde ends around September 6th-7th, but the shadow period won’t be over till October 9th when Venus re-enters Virgo.
The energies this week will begin to settle by the weekend, so don’t lose your cool or your heart. I highly recommend extreme self-care during this next three to six weeks. When I say “self-care” I also include in that the choice to be vulnerable enough to ask for support from others, including nurturing, hugs, and a good set of ears. Also, diplomacy now will go a long way towards healing and renewal of love and affection later. We are all in this together, and its all a bit bigger than us too. Kindness counts. Sometimes we need space, or we need to give others the space. Sometimes closeness will be more in step with what is needed. Above all, with Pluto, Chiron and Saturn in the framework, telling the truth to ourselves and others, without blame or without expectation, will be the wisest course. A sense of humor and some laughs goes a long way as well.
Till next time, be gentle...
P.S. Here’s a little ditty to help smooth things along...
by Isaac George
May 2nd, 2015
I’ll be brief. This Full Moon has so much baggage attached to it you’ll need a forklift or a crane to deal with it. The upside is that it’s about exposing what has been denied. The downside is that it’s about exposing what’s still being denied. Whoops!
Supposedly The Buddha (the Enlightened One) was born when there was a Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus. If so, then this is a time that makes a strong case for it being necessary to see all of the false demons and paper tigers that are coming at us from under the rug of our subconscious. In other words, calling out denial is an act of enlightenment. Maybe you’ll see a self-sabotaging belief or attachment to a situation that’s been sucking on your Life Force for far too long. Remove that leech, banish that vampire! Or, perhaps someone close to you will reveal a Mr Hyde or Ms. Hyde side of their persona you’d never had an inkling was there in the first place. Call out the Pest Removal crew…and free yourself!
The Sun is at 13 degrees of Taurus (celebrate our roots), the Moon is at 13 degrees of Scorpio (uncomfortable or held emotions). Those middle degrees are intense! The other players that are close to that degree are Pluto at 15 Capricorn (retrograde – “where’s my power?”), Jupiter at 13 Leo (“I’m in charge, aren’t I?”), Black Moon Lilith at 17 Virgo (“Don’t disrespect me!”), and Vesta at 16 Pisces (“What are my beliefs, and do they still work?”). But wait, there’s more!
When you examine the center of this chart (see Figure 1 below) the aspect lines form an almost perfect hexagon, or six-pointed star. Whenever you have that geometry you also get a Mystic Rectangle between four points of the star (see Figure 2 below). Trace imaginary lines from the South Node in Aries (karmic baggage) to Mercury in Gemini (more data please!), North Node in Libra (my Authentic Soul Desire in Sustainable Relationship) to Saturn in Sagittarius (What is the truth here?), and there it is! A Mystic Rectangle is formed by four sextiles (60 degrees of separation), whereas a Grand Trine is formed between three points or planets at 120 degrees of separation. Get two Grand Trines interlinked and you get a Hexagon. You get “flow” with the Hexagon, and you get a high degree of synchronization with the four planets or points within the Mystic Rectangle.
All this adds up to a great deal of power flowing from point to point to aid in the process of the Full Moon. In this case, letting go of what no longer serves, and doing whatever mourning or grieving that is needed in order to EN-LIGHTEN yourself of a karmic load. The other side of this configuration is the EM-POWERMENT of individuals to do some kind of soul-retrieval work, bringing back disowned or lost parts of the Psyche that were displaced due to being inappropriately being blamed for something, blaming oneself about something (regret), or splitting off parts of ourselves that we ditched into a gutter out of fear that we’d be judged or exiled for being unworthy. With Black Moon Lilith, Pluto and the Scorpio Moon in the mix, this is an especially potent time for women to reclaim their true shamanic roots.
With Uranus and Pluto still in strong aspect by a tense square, some of your soul retrieval work may take novel twists or turns. Or, your intensity around self-reclamation may earn you the title “uncaring” or worse. This event does have a tone of “don’t take anything personal”, but of course, it will be taken in just that way…for now. Weather the raging storms, and you will break into the clear, and so will everyone else.
If all this seems confusing, try not to let it drop you into overwhelm. Do you know a bit about your birth chart? Then look to see where you have anything around 10-15 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio. Look at which house Venus rules (Taurus or Libra), and also where Pluto falls in your chart (co-ruler of Scorpio). Those positions will give you a hint what the themes of the denial/release are about, while the placement of the Sun and Moon, Pluto, etc. will show the houses where the activations will occur.
Although this Lunation occurs Sunday in some parts of the globe, and Monday in the rest, the effects will be more visible for the next two weeks. In other words, there may not be any fireworks to observe on Bank Holiday Monday in Britain and Ireland. Too wet out there anyway (if you live there, you know what I mean). The upwelling will become apparent as the days tick off towards the New Moon in Taurus on the 18th of May, the next starting point in these exciting, but sometimes weird, times.
Don’t book any wooden riverboat trips down Denial, and may the stars be ever in your favor.
And as always, Peace,
P.S. The website will be undergoing a major makeover during this coming week or so...it too desires to become enlightened :-). So, pardon our dust. Thanks!
P.P.S. I find it wildly ironic that the day after this Full Moon is "Cinco de Mayo", which celebrates a major victory by Mexico against an invasion by France in 1862. Enjoy your favorite chilli, burrito or tostada with a Dos Equis, Carta Blanca or Pacifico brew, and declare your Yindependence. Ole'!

March 14th, 2015
This month has a load of astrological markers that are quite significant on their own, but it is the synthesis that is most intriguing. If you are not savvy with astrology terminology or the use of archetypes, the technical side can be a bit daunting and distracting. I’ll try to minimize the astro-babble and focus on the feel and meaning of these times, and more importantly, how best to respond to them. For those of you who do follow astrology, and know a bit about your own charts, the areas of highest sensitivity for this month are planets, asteroids or chart angles between the 8th to 17th degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn, and Leo.
This is the second installment in a three-part series. If you missed the first segment, click here to read it.
Week of March 15th to the 21st – “Mission…Possible!”
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be.” Kurt Vonnegut
We begin the week fully in the energy of the 7th and final square between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. This will occur this Tuesday, March 16th, at 2:22am GMT (UT). There are also some significant triggers preceding this point, such as Saturn turning retrograde at 4 degrees of Sagittarius yesterday (March 14th) and the Moon meeting up with Pluto in Capricorn today at 9:19am GMT (UT). This coming Friday there is a partial Solar Eclipse at 29 degrees of Pisces at 9:35am GMT (UT), followed by the Spring Equinox when the Sun ingresses into Aries at 10:46pm GMT (UT). All charts are provided at the end of this article. For more detailed information about the Solar Eclipse, just click here.
Now that that’s handled, I’ll flesh out my feeling/knowing about what’s happening…
We are all on a ‘mission’. Our souls have a big agenda, or we wouldn’t be here at this time on this world. One of the things about this notion is that it is essential to see that everyone else is on a mission too, so you have loads of company, and no one is better or lesser equipped than another; just uniquely equipped, as it were. I’ve titled this blog “Mission…Possible!” because in spite of there being so much change and flux and intensity, this is not a negative situation we find ourselves in. Sure, letting go of the familiar, even that which has been a fixture of love, attention, security or familiarity in our lives looks “negative”, or is viewed as a loss, as this is a judgment from our ego. Face it, egos dislike change….intensely. But the new landscape will be quite different from our old familiar territory.
Our egos (our little kid) have been under a lot of pressure during the Uranus-Pluto cycle, which really began in the summer of 2012. We must deal with all the hurts, disappointments and injustices it suffered over the decades since we arrived here. All this got really triggered after the 6th Square, around Dec.15th, 2014.
Secondly, it does not like feeling abandoned or ignored. It has NEEDS, and we better listen to it or else we’re going to find ourselves dragging a squirming tantrum into the future with us. None of us will be able to afford that bill as this year progresses. In order to fully manifest and realize our purpose for being here, we will have to integrate our unconscious bits quite dramatically, and also very lovingly and compassionately.
Part of this work centers around redefining our view about our natures. We are human, and we do possess a spark of divinity, a quality of self-awareness and imagination. However, we are also human animals, and do share a connection to the Gaia, the planetary consciousness, and all of the other biological forms here. Our planet is also known as the Magna Mater – the “Great Mother.” Actually, that’s an old Gnostic term for Nature in general, no matter where it arises in the Cosmos. They also called her “Sophia”, the Wisdom Goddess, and wisdom is a weapon we’ll need after the major shifting we currently find ourselves embroiled in.
We are all interconnected in a profound way, as if we were one organism, with each person constellated in such a way as to provide a particular service or gift to all other parts of ‘us’ that are in need of such support. This is the basis for real communing, or community. It is touted as the primary quality of the coming Age of Aquarius.
One aspect of the Solar Eclipse this Friday is that the Sun and Moon meet at 29 degrees of Pisces, the ultimate end of a Zodiacal cycle that began around 200 B.C.E. In other words, the imminent end of the Great Age of Pisces may be upon us. Look at the glyph for Pisces…two Fish swimming in opposite directions. This represents the rise of self-reflection, the expansion of the ego, and the sense of separateness from Nature and each other that has marked this Age. Perspectives were “either/or”, and hardly ever, “both/and”. It gave rise to Darwinian Theory, competition, scarcity and poverty consciousness, etc. One might argue that this began when agriculture was invented, and we stopped living in small foraging tribes. However, during the last 2,200 years we really excelled in creating a power over, victim-perpetrator game that has brought us to the edge of ecocide, and species extinction. Our psyches are exhausted and trying to catch up with the evolutionary pressures brought to bear. We are extolled to “evolve or perish” now, and it is imperative that we do so to avert disaster.
Years ago I read a book entitled “The Coming of the Feminine Christ”, by Dr.Niamh Clune. The standout quote from this work was “only the Awakened Heart can avert the apocalypse.” I strongly feel that is a truth worth reflecting upon as we encounter the planetary agents of change in our midst. Our hearts must awaken, our souls must be given reign over the egoist concerns of survival and personality. This is the test of Uranus in Aries, which is the Sacred Warrior of the Aquarian principle facing up to Pluto in Capricorn, the defender of the Established Order of the previous Age. Each archetype has a light and shadow aspect. On the dark side Uranus is change at all costs and Pluto is ruthless about power. The enlightened side of Uranus is community, and the expansion of “Yintegrity”, or doing what you want when you want to. The shiny side of Pluto (is there one?) is deep and profound shamanic transformation, leading to lasting change, whether you personally like it or not.
New opportunities are before us. We are called upon to own our mastery, our mission. I am coming to view the term “mastery” in a new way, more like a kind of Jedi Knight. Instead of some impossible ideal of divine-human perfectionism, this mastery is about full authenticity and vulnerability. Sometimes we can flow with the Force, and achieve amazing things. Sometimes, the Force does not cooperate, and we need to just grow still, nurture ourselves and listen. At other times we can wield the power within us at will, and at other times, it’s Will with have its way with us. Wisdom comes from listening to the ebb and flow and responding, rather than pushing and shoving.
Trying to do 'power over', with all the inherent abuses, is not going to work anymore. Everyone is becoming too sensitive to the amount of fraud rampant on the planet right now, and any attempts to use power to gain an advantage over another will boomerang. Let’s just say that karma may be instantaneous, and leave it at that.
Yes, practicality will be required. Getting your hands dirty and working hard will definitely be required. That’s Saturn for you. The next cycle we enter is Saturn-Neptune, and it will require discernment, hard work, and also a respect for process of bringing ideas and ideals into form. Not everything you want, or think you want, will be necessarily good for you or for others. This is the Neptune part…releasing your dreams and desires to your Soul for a more balanced manifestation to materialize. As previously stated, we still have to contend with the Old Order, the 1% who refuse to give up their greed and ‘power over’ game. Be careful it doesn't infect your heart’s true desires.
There will be a bit less pushing and shoving with Saturn going into retrograde. That doesn’t mean you will be idle and contemplating your navel till August 2nd. What it means is that this is a time of review. Your course may be cluttered with pictures of reality that no longer serve you, or others. The past may be incompatible with your present and your vision (mission, desire) for the future. This is like “remedial lessons” time for some folks…another chance to tidy up loose ends before really moving into your Soul’s direction.
Uranus-Pluto will ask you to move from horizontal reference to vertical reference. Connect within, and connect to Galactic Core (7th Chakra) and Sophia-Gaia-Earth (1st Chakra). You are an embodiment of Life...not a struggling human (that’s the old Piscean mentality of divide and conquer, sacrifice and abandonment). It will also empower you in such a way as to finally leave old contracts and commitments that no longer serve you.
The Solar Eclipse is also about realizing your innate power and gifts. This is a time to really shed some skins around the old “no power” or “abuse of power” syndrome most of us have had imprinted in us. As Saturn moves deeper into Sagittarius next year, it will begin to expose more of the false power matrix, especially in politics and religion, and then the true effects of embracing our innate power will have the potential for hammering out real social change. It begins with one person at a time, and then multiplies exponentially. The Eclipse is sort of a death-knell for organized politics and religion anyway. Saturn will expose much, and the remaining energy of the Uranus-Pluto square and this Eclipse will continue the crumbling of static and outworn structures, from the personal level to the global stage.
One note of caution – eclipses are tricky, and since there’s a Lunar Eclipse at 14 degrees of Aries-Libra on April 4th it could distort some of the things you thought you were previously clear about. In other words, no final decisions about some things will be available until after the Saturn retrograde is completely resolved – around mid-November. I’ll address this in more depth in the final installment of this series this coming Saturday, March 21st.
