![]() (Part 1 of 3 parts) by Isaac George December 11th, 2018 “Slow down, you move to fast. You’ve got to make the moment last.” – Simon & Garfunkel “If we valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” – JRR Tolkien “Look at Nature! All Nature loafs, while Man alone works for a living.” – Morton Tolboll When we really tune into our experience of this world right now, and think back one, three, or even 10 years ago, would you say you are more content and satisfied, or less? Does everything make more sense to you, or less? Most importantly, do you have more time to spend enjoying the things that Life offers, or less? Even though everything is abstractly in the “now”, having enough time is, ironically, our most precious resource. As you reflect on your own answers, I hope it turns out that you are more content, feel like more things are clearer to you, and that you are enjoying a load of time to be with your family, friends, and favorite pursuits. Congratulations, for you are part of a rare and possibly shrinking percentile of the population. If you are not experiencing this expanded state of life, then perhaps you’ll resonate with my call for the Slow Life. My own perceptions about why it is that there is so much pressure, stress and anxiousness is as multidimensional as the causes themselves. Just some of the current causes are as follows:
Many people in our developed information-based societies are dancing as fast as possible to maintain their standard of living. A good deal more are staying just ahead of losing their livelihood, their income, or their home. Debt and debt service are at record highs. A good many sacrifice warmth and comfort just to be able to put food on the table for themselves and their families. The world is too busy trying to stave off collapse to notice that it’s eating up a massive amount of their attention, resources, and most importantly, time. Since you’re reading this, I can safely assume that you are deeply interested in spirituality, meditation, transformation, positive perspectives and creating a better world for yourself and everyone else too. Choosing peace, and living a peaceful life is also one of your priorities. However, the world is far from being a peaceful place…currently anyway. Struggle, anxiety, depression and adrenal fatigue are a very real experience for many. Desperation and starvation are something that too many children and their parents are enduring in places like Syria and Yemen. We’d all like to do something more, to contribute more, to help more, but we ourselves are often also just too busy with our dreams, our careers, and the needs of others close to us to be able to do much more than we are already doing. If everything in your life is fantastic, free, easy and full of joy, then I congratulate you heartily! But if you’re feeling doubt or fear what the future may hold or are even just too tired to care much at all, then I’d like to invite you to really take a long look at your world, your experience and begin to question the stories of how the world works. It is vitally important to understand where we are first, before creating any possible solutions. In order to do this, you’re going to have to create a slower life. You can’t see or hear anything properly if it’s whizzing by too quickly! Start by carving out 10-15 minutes a day…to do nothing that relates to your work or list of responsibilities. I don’t even want to suggest to you that you meditate, but you could “do” that! ![]() Get into a quieter space. Bedroom? Close the door, turn off the phone. You could pick something that you enjoy doing…thoroughly, like sewing, or cooking, or reading. Better yet, just sit. Eyes open or eyes closed. Sit…quietly. Listen to your breath, your heart. Watch your mind churn…and keep following your own breath. Focus on a single object in front of you if that helps…and really gaze at it effortlessly. Just…let…go. If you find you’re getting annoyed with nothing to do, or with abject silence, then welcome to the club. You’re on the verge of detecting where we are constantly up against a program of distraction from what really matters, which is connection to Source, your own soul and body well-being. Source, God, Goddess, Love, or whatever name you choose to call it, is the Infinite Divine wellspring of everything there is, and everything that isn’t. You didn’t create yourself, and you are alive and breathing through the agency of this Source, and you cannot alter that fact. Pretty humbling stuff, if you ask me. Consciousness and awakening are the ultimate impulse of the Life-Love energy that pulses throughout all that is. Can you just rest in that presence for even 10 minutes? Give it a try. Oh, and you don’t need any intermediary for this…no angels, no masters, no guides. Just you and You. No problem! After this little experiment, write down what you experienced and what you didn’t experience. It’s a merely a reflective exercise, without a right or wrong to it. Ideally, it can bring you into a place of real pleasurable sensations…a sense of calmness and okay-ness. At least that’s the idea and ideal. Since we are in the season of giving, I’d suggest that one of the big things you can begin to express with whatever you come away with from these slow life moments is compassion. To give kindness and compassion to whomever you encounter over the last few weeks of 2018 will have great effect. It’s an equalizer, and the one something that we all are needing more of is love and a sense of belonging…the power of communing and community. The best currency, and in my opinion only currency is Love. If you give a donation, let it be wrapped in the felt presence of deliberate and premeditated love. Slow down, and ask the homeless person if they are okay, or if you make the time, ask them to share a bit about themselves. You may get quite an illuminating education and blessing in the process. The money part isn’t the main gift. It’s the gift of time you give to another…a space that is priceless when so many just rush on by, averting their eyes, and caught up in their personal troubles and drama. Back in a few days with the next segment on The Slow Life. The astrology of Chiron now direct in Pisces is priming us for major healing opportunities on many levels, so relax into the possibilities of what that might engender for yourself. May 11th 2018 “Live for yourself, and you will live in vain. Live for others, and you will live again.” – Bob Marley If you are reading this, perhaps you’ve always had a deep and unresolved yearning to know the “truth” about everything. Or, maybe you’ve just had some hard knocks in your life recently, and nothing is making much sense to you now. No matter how you slice it, the reality is that there are very few people who are self-actualized on this planet, who are successful according to society’s definitions, and don’t seem to have a care in the world. According to a report issued last spring by the World Health Organization (WHO) depression is now a major pandemic affecting millions worldwide, and it’s increasing with each passing month. Even the famous and successful actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has recently admitted that he was so depressed as a teenager after his mother attempted suicide that he was crying all the time, and he now urges men to open to their real feelings. [Links below] It’s not farfetched to think that we’re not really standing on solid ground any longer. The old beliefs, institutions, and explanations around our reasons for being alive and on this planet don’t cut it anymore, and as a species we are more stressed out, disconnected and yearning for meaning than ever before. Does it feel like you have no time or space to just BE, much less enjoy your life without having a moment’s respite from demands that our societies place on us? If so, then please read on. ![]() by Isaac George Dec.12th, 2017 During the run up to a major holiday season, we may find ourselves taking on extra burdens and responsibilities. We may still be very busy with our work, or perhaps raising a family and so forth, but suddenly there are even more tasks and lists to deal with! You may notice that this cycle is repeated each and every year, but you might find less and less patience with it, or you'd like to find some way to just relax, and stop running yourself ragged. The holidays can also be a social pressure-cooker, one in which old hurts or losses may arise. When these are added in its hard to find much to celebrate or be thankful for. Perhaps you need to refresh your spirit, and learn a different way for yourself? Relaxation is an art. We've forgotten much of this art, mostly because of our modern society and the influx and intrusion of so much technology into our daily lives. Electrostress is a real culprit in robbing our bodies of vitality and aliveness, while also feeling relaxed and centered at the same time. The background EMF fields or our smartphones put us into a flight or fight response we may not be aware of. But our bodies sure are reacting! Our "work ethic" is also another stress point. We are expected to perform, to be productive, or somehow we're we feel we're not contributing or being effective enough. This is unheard of in indigenous cultures. The idea of "work" isn't even a word in some of these cultures. Feeling really connected to yourself, and to anything you could deem greater han your chatterbox mind, is the only remedy for so much of what ails us. Discovering our divinity, or the Divine within, and getting in touch with our souls and bodies, is a habit that needs to be started, cultivated and maintained as the starting point for each day. Your immune system depends on it, for if we maintain the tension, our immunity can't protect us from even the common cold. I've specialized in many energy modalities, guided meditations, intuitive spiritual guidance and more since 1997, and the one thing I know that is at the core of whole health is the art of relaxing. Sometimes what is needed is for me to assist someone to discover the source of their anxiety and then listen deeply so he or she can unburden's themselves of some old grief, or grievance. Another person may simply need help with how to make a conscious and loving decision for themselves around some important life matter. In another instance some personal or professional crisis propels someone to want to know how to access something greater than themselves, in order to discover their core purpose and deeper meaning and peace in their life...to find Spirit. My role is to guide my clients into whatever is most needed for them, so that they discover their own answers and their own rhythms. This is a work in progress, or journey of self-discovery...not a one-off reading or predictive art. Whatever it is that my clients are confronted with, my primary role is to create a secure and powerful space in which they can rediscover the art of relaxation...to cultivate the sanctuary within. Once that's established, the real work can progress organically. If any of this resonates with you, and you desire to move from the place in life you currently find yourself into a more peaceful, creative, satisfying and fulfilling experience, then just contact me by clicking here and set up a free call to explore your needs and deepest dreams. I only have a few spaces available for my Spiritual Mentoring program starting in January, so I recommend booking your appointment now. After our chat, you'll receive some valuable steps and tools to help you de-stress, ground and center so you can better enjoy the holidays. With love, and blessings for the Solstice and however you celebrate the season, Isaac ![]() By Isaac George Dec 15th, 2016 It’s that time of the year once again when the hopes of spending time with loved ones and friends is upon us. We may or may not have had happy times during the holiday seasons when we were growing up, but the expectation was there, and certainly we all hoped to have and experience love and companionship. “Peace on Earth, good will towards all” is the theme of these weeks at the end of each year. We make plans for relaxing and enjoying the warmth and company of our partners, wives, husbands, children and extended families. It should be a time of caring and joy, giving and receiving, and as usual, there are the shopping lists, arrangements for visits (and lots of meals together) and festive social events in the area. So far, so good, right? However, for many people, this time of year can unleash feelings of alienation, loneliness, regrets, confrontations with other family members, depression, or worse. Sometimes the sudden closeness with parents and other members of the family trigger old patterns that rekindle memories or hurts we thought were behind us. Sometimes we may find ourselves in a marriage or partnership that is struggling to stay above water during the rest of the year, but under the weight of the season’s demands, the pressures may crack a fragile truce or situation that’s been simmering for a long time. One of the toughest situations is to find yourself either recently separated or divorced and facing what is supposed to be a time of joy and happiness feeling alone, or even worse, a failure. And then there are those who long to be in another loving and nurturing relationship, and they have no one else. This may be due to a choice to be on one’s own after a divorce, or perhaps its due to the death of a spouse or loved one. No matter what the cause, to be alone during this season can be extremely challenging emotionally, and spiritually. I know, because I’ve been in this situation twice before in my life. One of the things that we all want and need is understanding, kindness, and affection. As single women and men, dating during this time of year is seldom an antidote, though sometimes the most serendipitous meetings between people can and do occur. Although there is distinct value in spending time and cultivating a healthy relationship with one’s own self, there is still the immense desire to be part of something resembling a loving partnership or family structure. Human beings are wired for connection, for as all mammals do, we thrive in unison, not in isolation. Tribes, clans, families, community and country are all exponential reflections of our need to bond and participate with one another. The pair bonding of two people who are resonating deeply with one another is one of the most profound and beautiful experiences that any of us can experience in life. If we deny that for ourselves, or have it denied to us for whatever the reason, a part of us dies inside. We are social creatures, and that means we are all about being “together.” This thing we call Love arises from the mysterious depths of our Soul and Spirit, and permeates every part of us (and everything). Romantic love, the love of a parent for his or her child, the love and passion one has for one’s vocation, or the love that one has for a friend, are all part of One Love…just expressed in myriad ways and forms. So, if you’re finding yourself feeling some trepidation or anxiousness around the seasonal times ahead, whether it be with your mate, their family or yours, perhaps you need some empathetic support and guidance…or if you are finally choosing to trust that you can attract and have a conscious, heart-centered partner and relationship, and you’d like to explore what you need to do to create this in your life, then I'd like to help and be of service as we draw towards the festive season. Major stuff happening in the sky, and here on Planet Earth too. Take care, and in the words of Bill and Ted, "be excellent to each other!" ![]() by Isaac George November 7th, 2016 “The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved, just to love and be loved.” - Eden Ahbez We all have a desire and need to feel love for ourselves, for a significant other, and to be loved in return. This inherent need is part of just being human, and the need for acceptance, touch and empathy is a basic right of just being alive. From a spiritual or metaphysical persperctive, we’re always in relationship with something – ourselves with our feelings and thoughts, our environment, Nature, and other people. There can be growth when spending time in solitude, following a spiritual practice or using the tools of self-inquiry or meditation to look deeper within. This often is cyclical, and we eventually our curiosity and desire for connection drives us to seek the companionship. Recently I invited people on my mailing list and on social media to participate in a two-fold survey. There were two areas I wanted feedback on: spirituality, spiritual practices and spiritual or shamanic “emergence.”, and intimate relationships and partnering, and the responses to this category were very revealing for me. The number one challenge-issue-fear was around trust. Over 90% of the respondents cited this factor above all else, including communication, cooperation, or sexual intimacy issues. Trusting the other or one’s own motivations, even surrendering to love itself and all the vulnerability it demands is demands that we deal with our own anxieties, insecurities and woundings from past dissapointments, betrayals or abuse. Some of the respondents also cited difficulties with communication, fears of losing oneself in the other, or experiencing the polarity of abandonment or suffocation. Our way of relating and being in relationship is predicated on the models we learned through our upbringing and the messages from our cultures. These have conditioned our behaviours in how we connect and relate at any age. Sometimes the memories in our soul, or in our parent’s unhealed events with their upbringing, brings us into contact with unhealthy patterns. Co-dependency, broken attachments with one parent or another can cause to unconsciously attract the exact opposite situations that we’re really desiring. My direct experiences and observations during the last 10 years or so tells me that many of these patterns and beliefs, as well as our relationships themselves, are under pressure to change. There are many more people who are becoming weary with any superficiality in their relationships and love connections, and I’ve seen a profound increase in the interest in soulmate, soul-based partnerships. There’s also a growing awareness of the phenomenon of twin flames and twin souls. This is becoming an area of interest that isn’t just about finding the perfect partner – it has broader spiritual implications and potentials. Just Google these terms and conduct your own research if you’re curious. I would also add to this discourse the language and science of astrology which I see as a big part of the changes in relationship these days. The end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012 ushered in the first of the Uranus-Pluto Squares. Uranus entered the sign of Aries in March, 2011, the sign of the warrior and being more individualized and independent. Between June 2012 and March of 2015 there were 7]seven exact contacts through Pluto and Uranus being in a square aspect, which is Mastery through Challenge. I personally went through a deep spiritual transformation via the disintegration of a long-term partnership and a rebirth into envisioning a newer and more egalitarian partnership model and opportunity. The bottom line here is that so many of the issues coming up within relationships now are asking us to grow and let go of many of our dysfunctional ways of being so that we can actually come in to a real and experiential equality with those we are in closest resonance with, and really explore conscious relating and mutually supportive and creative ways for helping each other to express our deepest gifts for the benefits of others, and manifest our desires and Soul Mission. My orientation is that our spirituality, creativity, sensitivity and sexuality are all intertwined in this transformative process. Once we have grounded fully within ourselves without shame or guilt, then our vibration changes and we begin to attract those who will mirror with us in love, harmony, abundance, and yes, in complete trust. It is also the foundation for building a fair and equitable economic system, sustainable communities, and a healthy relationship with our home planet. If you would like to explore more about my approach to attracting and cocreating conscious relationships full of trust and deeper potential for intimacy, then I would like invite you to schedule a Discovery Call with me.
