You are not a machine.
Looking around these days, whether its in my Inbox, on my social media feeds, or listening to the chatter I pick up on in cafes, I am hearing and seeing loads of messages about becoming more proficient, productive and efficient in your career, workplace, home space and lifetstyle. A near constant litany of ways to improve this, hack that, and strategies for achieving more are even pervasive (as I see it) than in recent memory. In fact, they are becoming just as annoying as pop-up ads. Juxtaposed against this stream of consciousness (am I being too kind here?) are another set of messages warning us about the dysfunctional nature of our lifestyle choices, and how they are increasing our depression, affecting our health, and ultimately calling into question the whole basis of our way of life. Day to day living is becoming a search for the next dopamine fix when you check your smartphone.
Which messages are you listening to?
It seems as if the mindfulness movement has been hijacked to serve our need for ever more security, stuff and to secure some arbitrary ideal of what the “perfect live” looks like. Are we using the tools of metaphysics and spirituality as they were originally designed, or have we co-opted them for our personal ego agendas and possible gain? The wellness industry is a kind of oxymoron really, another adjunct or app to help us to continually cope and produce. However, what happens when you really slow down, and take a closer look, and reflect? The chasing is never-ending. The finding ever more elusive.
Is it all making you happier, or just more miserable than ever?
Worry, anxiety and depression, along with obesity, drug and alcohol addiction, and gender and racial abuses is on the rise. So are authoritarian right-wing politicians and governments. We’re behaving like chronically unfulfilled, hungry ghosts searching for a material or spiritual Nirvana. Perhaps further away from that goal than we'd care to admit. Ultimately, we must ask ourselves, what is it all for, and what is the point?
Whether we like it or not, we are also connected to every other living thing on this world, and we all are having a shared experience. (That's an even a deeper rabbit hole I could take this down, but that’s for another time.) If you are wondering what the most graceful and sensible next steps for reducing or eliminating fear, stress and anxiety in your life, then here is what I’ve found works for me, and for many of those whom I call my clients and friends.

The most predominant of human needs is to hope for something better, something ineffable and to feel like we are moving forward so we may eventually arrive at some point in the future that will at least feel arriving at a sort of completion, a coming home as it were. It’s in-built in us, part of our nature. And very altruistically we long for everyone else to have this experience. Well, most of us anyway. The inverse or ego-inflation of this impulse manifests itself in all manner of sociopathic and psychopathic behaviours and events, some of which are so horrific, that we call them senseless, and indeed they are without sense in every respect of the word. How do we reconcile the distortion of this lofty impulse with our better nature? How do we try to understand what this world is really all about?
This has been a momentous few weeks, and indeed most of the action has been over the past 7 days. New Moon on Monday-Tuesday at 27 degrees of Aries, with powerful Uranus joining the party. Then Saturn turns Retrogade in Capricorn, followed by Chiron leaving Pisces, where it’s been since April 20th, 2010, and entered Aries. Since I now view evolutionary astrology as something we are both observing and influenced by, and also as something we are collectively participating in creating, the ramifications of the phenomenon is intriguing, and as many are experiencing, challenging and somewhat disruptive. Even with Pluto also now slowing down and stationing prior to going Retrograde this Sunday, it is still the issue of Chiron moving from Pisces to Aries that is dominating. Here’s why...

“The greatest teacher, failure is.” – Yoda, from “The Last Jedi”
This week is a significant one. It started off with G1 geomagnetic storm and the New Moon at the degree of the Galactic Center (26 degrees of Sagittarius), and it will finish with the Sun moving from Sagittarius into Capricorn on Friday. Of course, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day follows, but today through the end of this week is where the main action is happening, along with two other noteworthy elements: the end of the current Mercury retrograde, and big daddy Saturn changing signs and moving into its own domain of Capricorn.
It’s intriguing how much more awareness there is now around the various influences that affect our consciousness in our lives. Our psyches do have to contend with so much in our modern post-industrialized world, especially versus our even recent ancestors from 250 years ago. From the impact of the Internet and social media, to the disintegration and breakdown of political, economic, religious, social structures everywhere. Our ecological crisis is one that is also at play just now, and which will vie for more of our attention as the years pass.
While living on this planet we are facing earthly, astrological, and cosmic influences that are always around us and involved in our evolutionary condition, physical or otherwise. I also must include the “hidden” influences from interdimensional and hyper dimensional realms, and those that populate them. This does not imply that any influence is either entirely bad or good. Some are helpful, and others less decidedly so. We also can view such phenomena from either a victim perspective, or as one empowered to change our individual destiny. We may even to bend and break some of the accepted rules or beliefs, even so-called cosmic laws.
There are limits however, to what is ours to change, and what need to surrender to. If we hang on too tightly to anything, it can become another loop, destined to replay itself in some other way or lifetime, until we learn the lesson and integrate it. Essentially, that’s the nature of this level of “reality”. I call it the Loopy Looper effect. If you’ve experienced some déjà vu on some issue from your past cropping up repeatedly, you know what I mean. It also validates the adage: “history repeats itself.”
To acknowledge the power of certain cyclic loops is useful – if you understand that they are just that…markers in the time continuum. Although cycles are part of the realm of Nature, try to look at those cycles as a spiral moving upwards, or at least sideways through space and time…like a wormhole. This differs somewhat from the loopiness that humans unconsciously create. The difference is that the planet is also alive, sentient and auto-poetic. Auto-poetic means to have the ability to dream or emanate into manifestation an intent or thought. We also possess this gift, but usually our personality gets fixated in separation and survival mode, and we miss the greater possibilities and potentials for using the gift for wisdom and self-knowledge in service to all life. That’s another story though.
The Solstices are markers in the spiralling cycle, as are the Equinoxes. They are congruent and harmonious points in by which balance is maintained. Equilibrium is the primary function of all energy systems. Therefore, the Law of Attraction must function in tandem with the Law of Repulsion. And Enlightenment isn’t so much a goal as it is a state of beingness that is at the still point or balance. It arises as a natural outcome of making the shadow, our “endarkenment”, conscious. The veils are dissolved, and we just “know” what there is to know. By the way, this truth is given a high priority in the latest film in the Star Wars saga, so if you go see it, watch, and listen closely.
The Winter Solstice is oft called the “return of the Light” because the shortest of days is reached, and then the days of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere get longer until the time of the Summer Solstice. Astrologically and in the pagan lore it is the preparation time for the planting of new seeds next spring.
The Winter Solstice in this year has a few new wrinkles to it. Saturn, Lord of Time, Cause and Effect, Limitation and Matter enters its rulership in Capricorn until December 2020. Capricorn represents organizations: governments and institutions, banking, economics, rules, and regulations of all types. The last time Saturn was at 0.00 degrees of Capricorn was November 1988. If you were alive then, what was happening at that time for you? What was in the headlines?
The other new wrinkle to watch for will occur next May when Uranus leaves Aries and enters another Earth sign – Taurus. What all this will feel like for the next six months is a kind of weaning (whether voluntary or not) from virtual reality mechanisms, social media, digital domination, and any airy-fairy spiritual bypassing. In other words, the message is “get real!” The pushback by carbon-based oxygen breathing organic souls (us) against the Silicon Gods is already in motion, and it will gain momentum. That’s the first awakening of 2018. Old leaders, idols and false heroes will be exposed and fall. The golden calf will be found out, and its counterfeit.
Taking responsibility is also a Saturnian theme. However, our human conditioning is loaded with the guilt-driven forms of responsibility we were brainwashed with from childhood. Some of this brainwashing is also evident in spiritual and religious programming as well. Obeying all the rules and never questioning anything will always end up in a blind alley. Uranus in Taurus will guarantee that never happens. We are invited to delve into the higher levels of meaning of the word responsibility.
The responsibility I’m speaking to here is about being responsible about your awakening process, and assisting others to awaken from the false light and fear that is rampant on this planet. It’s a process, and no one can predict the timeline nor the possible outcomes. We can only take responsibility for what is reasonable and fair to ourselves and those within our vicinity. Break it down: Response-ability. We best learn our mastery through our failures. The ability to respond to failures is the seed of real success.
We are luminous beings of Light, and our souls are truly innocent. However, I feel that the word “soul” is been bandied about heavily over the last half decade, and over-used by folks to re-brand their online businesses, etc. The words “god” or “Spirit”, and even “goddess” has faded into the background. Why? Perhaps we are a bit too over-focused on our psyche, self-reflecting on what our soul wants, or the traumas our souls remember and struggle to resolve, even though it may not be the highest source of wisdom and guidance available. The end of our innocence isn’t about losing our innocence as it is about losing our naivete’. We can no longer prevent, avoid or delay waking up fully, and seeing those things we don’t want to look at, whether outside of us or within us.
The exposure of sexual predation recently is only one “tip of the iceberg” of the spiritual and psychic predatory agendas that have kept humanity in victimhood, separation, and fear for thousands of years. The hidden can no longer be hidden. It’s symptomatic of the end of this cycle, the Kali Yuga or whatever, and the potentiality of a different outcome arises each day when we arise, and choose differently. The power of choice is what I began these December blogs with. When we merge our power of choice with our divine instincts, then that alignment will assist us to emanate and actualize our ideal next steps in this experience.
I suggest that your desires, intentions, wishes and dreams all carry the caveat “for my highest and best good, and the highest and best good of all.” Stay balanced and grounded and find the still point within when the times get crazy.
Just remembered something that the American sleeping prophet and seer Edgar Cayce said: “If you can still pray, then you’re in good shape. If you can’t pray, then you are really in trouble.”
Wishing you all the best for the Solstice, the holiday season, and blessings for a 2018 full of joy, opportunity, peace, and happiness.

You may have been experiencing and on-again, off-again crisis mode this past week or so, as there are a number of factors involved. Some are the general breakdowns globally, both politically, economically, socially and ecologically. Other influences are astro-events such as the Chiron Retrograde which began July 1st, Mercury in Cancer first opposing Pluto on June 29th, followed by Mars opposing Pluto on July 1st. And the Inuit Eskimo astro-goddess Sedna squared the Nodal Axis of Leo-Aquarius on July 4th. Pluto figures in very prominently during these times, which brings me to the main subject – POWER. There’s a ginormous difference between Power and Empowerment. A recent article in the monthly periodical Atlantic shows that the pursuit and acquisition of power causes brain damage! That’s right, and you can view that article HERE.
For me, this article partially explains both sides of the psychopath question: does the desire for power require a lack of empathy, or does the acquisition of power create an empathic vacuum in the individual? As with most things, it’s probably a both/and situation, rather than an either/or. However, there are stark differences to the nature of power versus what we term “empowerment.”
Empowerment is essentially the gift of becoming aware of our innate gifts of imagination, creation and choice. It has nothing whatsoever to do with exalting our egos, or our sense of “Self.” In fact, truly empowering activities are evidenced when we demonstrate our acceptance of ourselves as we already are…at any given moment. This empowers others to do the same. This is accomplished via our propensity for modeling, or “mirroring” something that looks good or better than what we’re currently experiencing. For example, helping someone else in a difficult life situation through guidance or emotional support actually raises the bar for both people. In other words, all ships rise on the same tide.
To FEEL empowered is due to our seeing others as we see ourselves, and knowing our worth. This means we all deserve kindness, love and consideration. These are the soul-gifts we have to share. Others then discover their innate worth and the gifts they have to give while here on Earth. The image below is an image of power that is used for self-aggrandisement (Kevin Spacey from the television drama “House of Cards”) The paradox is that this series came to mind while I was watching a film rich with messages about the source of real empowerment. That film is “Pay It Forward”, which is almost twenty years old now, and also starred Kevin Spacey. The contrast was so startling that I recommend you watch the movie first, then perhaps a few episodes of House of Cards, which is available on Netflix.
So, power isn’t everything. In fact, our source of true power is only “power with,” not “power over.” Too much of what passes for empowerment these days is nothing more than our flexing our muscles through creating strong boundaries. This may be a necessary phase when we’ve been so indoctrinated by the prevalent victim-perpetrator syndrome in our psyches. We first realize we’ve been manipulated or abused in some way, and at the time it seems that the only way to feel safe again is to create strong boundaries and flex our muscles and show them who’s in charge. We become “in charge” of ourselves. However, even the perpetrator is a victim, and only feels safe when he or she is dominant or in charge. There’s the paradox of power. It’s really about the fear of what may happen if we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, trusting, and soft. It’s about choosing Love over fear.
When we choose Love, then “power with” others and Nature is discovered to be the most successful strategy, and turns everything into play. In fact, it’s always been the only effective strategy. Our gatherer-hunter ancestors survived for thousands of years based on mutual cooperation and sharing. Competition and hoarding were deemed “insane” by them. And the concept of “work” was unknown. There isn’t even a word for “work” in the language of most indigenous peoples. One has to wonder if the concept of work may also be part of our “victim-perpetrator-savior” complex. Power “over” is always based on ego superiority, and it exists in all religions and political thought. Love is the only spiritual path worth following.
However, this Path of Love/Empowerment isn’t all pink bunny rabbits and flowers. Love has a strong empowerment component to it as well, the power of Love in defense of Life. We see it in Nature all the time. A mother bear protects it’s cubs from other predators. The symbiotic cooperation of sea anemones and clown fish. Mutual survival can coincide with standing up to wanton destruction or an imminent threat to Life by knowing we have the power to stand together and thwart that which is unhealthy, unsafe, or unsound. Life on this planet is worth defending, and when we join a movement or worthy cause that seeks to end the ecocide on this planet, or seeks to liberate other human beings from injustice, oppression or bondage, then we are also saving ourselves, and future generations, from the insane consequences of “power over.” The big problem with “power over” is that you can lose it. When you’re in alignment with Spirit, and don’t see others as separate from you, then power with is self-sustainable and infinite.
Last thoughts: What do you feel when you really look out into the stars above us that stretch outwards towards Eternity? I personally am always in awe of the pure nature of the Universe, and from whence it arises. True humility is empowering. When we can realize that although we’re apparently insignificant compared to the grandeur of Creation, and that we’re each designed to actually appreciate these wonders, we can relax a little, and discover the richness of just being alive!
It is that spark of Spirit inside each of us that just knows that we’re simultaneously very tiny, and also Infinite. When you remember that, you’ll find the only source of true power, and you can’t ever lose it. Now that’s powerful!

Equinox - Ingress of the Sun into Cardinal Fire Aries
Okay, no more Mr.Nice Guy...
I know this isn't my usual, light-hearted fare, but is the outgrowth of the love and inspiration I found in the eyes and voice of my beloved partner this morning. It moved me in so many beautiful and powerful ways, and I may share it with you later. However, for right now...
It's time to say something about the Men, and Masculinity. Venus is currently retrograding in Aries, and moving across the World Axis soon, and Eris and Uranus in Aries are in the throes of their last meetings. They won't be together again until 2106! The age of the Yang-Feminine is upon us.
What that means is the Divine Feminine is now fully awake and challenging the Patriarchy...and undermining it. Female entrepreneurs, motivational coaches, authoresses, and celebrity activists are making waves (think Susan Sarandon or Brene' Brown, or the women that were the defacto leaders at Standing Rock, ND to protect water rights of indigenous American nations). Good on ya girls! However, we men need to find our balls again, and do so unapologetically. The Ancients understood that the Feminine is receptive, and the Masculine penetrative. The alchemy is perfect, and reflects the dynamic balance of power in the Multiverse.
There's enough of everything in the Universe to fulfill all of our needs or desires, and it is Infinite. Our world, this beautiful Gaia, is subject to the forces of Time...as we are, and there are currently a finite number of resources available. It's healthy to know our limitations. We cannot continue to fuel infinite economic growth on this scale with a finite amount resources, or continue to poison our own nest with the refuse. The Planet and Nature is capable of miracles however. I witnessed the first shoots of growth that appeared after the devastation that followed the eruption of the volcano Mt.St. Helens in May of 1980 in Washington State USA. Nature is a miracle worker when left to it's own devices, but the wounded Masculine (patriarchy) has now altered that balance. We have interfered in processes we are only beginning to comprehend.
Geomagnetic activity is running high, and the Earth's own frequency as measured with the Schumann Resonance scale is fluctuating all over the place. With the Sun driving everything from magnetics to weather patterns, the Divine Masculine is making itself felt. With their magnetic fields connected, the Sun and the Earth are in a Tantric embrace that is mutually sustainable and benevolent. We're just the right distance from a star whose nuclear furnace could toast us to a crisp in moments. The heat and radiation is at gargantuan levels, and considering it's output, it's a wonder we're here at all. There's something in this our astrophysicists haven't yet uncovered, but I predict it's coming.
Back to the guys. The day of the New Age guy is long over. Bye-bye! Spiritual doesn't have to mean docile or compliant. We need to find our cahones again, but the path lies through the Heart, not the Mind. The distortion of the masculine mind is represented in the quest for control and power over things and other people. Our leaders (men and women both) are showing us how reticent they are to relinquish their power-over scenarios. Why? Because they're scared of awakened women for one thing. But what they're really terrified of is that awakened women are waking up the men. That spells the death-knell of the old order, and that order is showing up as being totally clueless right now. I don't think I need to remind you that it is this same Order that has been the source of the abuse of the Feminine and Mother Nature for centuries; the creator of wars, slavery and despair for many millennia. Adios to that!
The call of the Divine Feminine is that men awaken and ACT! If we are to hope to heal the gender war (not anyone's fault) and step into our authenticity and in equality, we will need to embrace the true meaning of anarchy. Anarchy could be chaos and mindlessness. But it's ultimate form is that of self-responsibility and self-maintenance...IN HARMONY with all of Life. Cooperation instead of competition, leading from the Heart and Soul, not from the Head. Accepting our creativity and sensuality (one in the same folks!), and seeking out our true partners for co-creating the potential for a Return to Eden - Heaven on Earth.
Nuff' said for now. This is just the beginning, and I've got more to say on this and related subjects...lots more. We've got work to do...it could feel like play though. As the character V in the movie "V for Vendetta" said: "A revolution without dancing, is a revolution not worth having."
A revolution in evolution...sounds like the future to me.
Spiritual, heart centered guidance for women and men....
