![]() By Isaac George A powerful New Moon is upon us this Monday, this time at a very significant degree in the Zodiac. Sun meets Moon in Taurus at 26 degrees, 55 minutes at 5:11am British Summer Time. This degree is described in the Sabian Symbols as “AN OLD INDIAN WOMAN SELLING BEADS AND TRINKETS.” Found the interpretation for this degree via astrologer Lynda Hill to be very helpful…you can read it here. (The chart may be viewed below) Essentially this lunation has the power to reignite our passions for our purpose and to also remind us of what we are truly in love with and why. Not out of a sense of obligation or duty, but because our innate instinct is a longing for belonging and of feeling really valued. Yes, although this New Moon is painted in very personal terms around self-value and empowerment, it is also going to have something to say in regards to our relationships; the ones were in, or the ones we’d like to be in. After all, the Nodes are still in Libra and Aries, and Mars is in a social sign (Gemini) and Venus is lounging around in Cancer (dewy-eyed love). Since the New Moon is noted as a time to set new intentions, then perhaps the intention should be to feel okay about shaking up our own values and see what remains that is truly our own, and not a value or belief system imposed from without. Begin by valuing your innate self-worth as a living embodiment of divinity in human form. This sense of self-value isn’t about ego, but about acknowledging where we haven’t overcome any feelings of guilt or shame about our right to be here, to be happy, free and peaceful. Fulfilment isn’t something you get…it’s something you are once you stop accommodating to the expectations of others. Now, the wrinkle here is that although this is a New Moon ruled by Venus (Taurus), and we’d like to think it’s all about hearts and flowers, there are edgy bits all around it. The main antagonist is a fixed star named Algol (Caput Algol) which hangs out at 26 degrees of Taurus, and it isn’t to be trifled with. In mythology it is the Gorgon’s Head, the head of Medusa severed by the hero Perseus. I’ve located two different views about Algol, which I’ve linked here and here. Essentially I view Algol as a supreme symbol of female empowerment and the sacred Feminine, especially in the sexual way, or involving kundalini and shamanism as a way of empowerment. It’s Feminine Power, unbridled and raw, but also with the power to transmute itself into an agent of pure creative potential. However, if there are areas of self-judgment or projections of guilt involved, then the suppression or sublimation of this force could easily “behead” someone…i.e., through anger projected outwardly at those who are controlling, or inwardly if the individual is harbouring shame or guilt. The task here is to shake and break any bonds whether of internal or external origin in order to liberate the psyche (soul) from bondage. Looked at in another way, we cannot be attacked by others if we stop attacking ourselves. Neither can we tolerate or allow projections of shame or guilt if we stop feeling unworthy about ourselves. In one sense, this lunation and the presence of Algol may speak louder to women than to men, but men will feel the effects indeed! Leading up to Monday’s event we have Venus in Cancer squaring the Nodes of the Moon (Libra – Aries), another pea under the mattress involving the need to relinquish our hold on relationships or relationship forms that are no longer resonating with our Soul’s new calling. This will be less pronounced the day of the New Moon, but the effects will linger for days. A weak Grand Trine between Mars, Ceres and the North Node are further stimulating themes around relating to others. Mars in Gemini is still loosely opposed by Saturn in Sag, who continues his retrograde path back towards the late degrees of Scorpio (arrives mid-June). Still a bit of the feeling of stop and go hanging around. This too shall pass. Pluto is also retrograding, but at a snail’s pace so far. Finally, Mercury turns retrograde the day after the New Moon at 2:49am British Summer Time at 13 degrees and 8 minutes of Gemini. We’ll get three weeks of ‘review’ time to reassess our mental images, and ideas and plans for the near future. As usual, I will recommend the backing up of files to external drives, organizing your papers, and double-checking your travel arrangements, etc. That’s all for this week’s Planet Visions update, and I recommend you lean into the wind of change gracefully and commit to it completely. Party on, Isaac P.S. As you may have noticed, the site revamp is complete, but there is still work to be done on some of the new packages. Have a browse around and see what you think. Thanks! ![]() by Isaac George May 2nd, 2015 I’ll be brief. This Full Moon has so much baggage attached to it you’ll need a forklift or a crane to deal with it. The upside is that it’s about exposing what has been denied. The downside is that it’s about exposing what’s still being denied. Whoops! Supposedly The Buddha (the Enlightened One) was born when there was a Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus. If so, then this is a time that makes a strong case for it being necessary to see all of the false demons and paper tigers that are coming at us from under the rug of our subconscious. In other words, calling out denial is an act of enlightenment. Maybe you’ll see a self-sabotaging belief or attachment to a situation that’s been sucking on your Life Force for far too long. Remove that leech, banish that vampire! Or, perhaps someone close to you will reveal a Mr Hyde or Ms. Hyde side of their persona you’d never had an inkling was there in the first place. Call out the Pest Removal crew…and free yourself! The Sun is at 13 degrees of Taurus (celebrate our roots), the Moon is at 13 degrees of Scorpio (uncomfortable or held emotions). Those middle degrees are intense! The other players that are close to that degree are Pluto at 15 Capricorn (retrograde – “where’s my power?”), Jupiter at 13 Leo (“I’m in charge, aren’t I?”), Black Moon Lilith at 17 Virgo (“Don’t disrespect me!”), and Vesta at 16 Pisces (“What are my beliefs, and do they still work?”). But wait, there’s more! When you examine the center of this chart (see Figure 1 below) the aspect lines form an almost perfect hexagon, or six-pointed star. Whenever you have that geometry you also get a Mystic Rectangle between four points of the star (see Figure 2 below). Trace imaginary lines from the South Node in Aries (karmic baggage) to Mercury in Gemini (more data please!), North Node in Libra (my Authentic Soul Desire in Sustainable Relationship) to Saturn in Sagittarius (What is the truth here?), and there it is! A Mystic Rectangle is formed by four sextiles (60 degrees of separation), whereas a Grand Trine is formed between three points or planets at 120 degrees of separation. Get two Grand Trines interlinked and you get a Hexagon. You get “flow” with the Hexagon, and you get a high degree of synchronization with the four planets or points within the Mystic Rectangle. All this adds up to a great deal of power flowing from point to point to aid in the process of the Full Moon. In this case, letting go of what no longer serves, and doing whatever mourning or grieving that is needed in order to EN-LIGHTEN yourself of a karmic load. The other side of this configuration is the EM-POWERMENT of individuals to do some kind of soul-retrieval work, bringing back disowned or lost parts of the Psyche that were displaced due to being inappropriately being blamed for something, blaming oneself about something (regret), or splitting off parts of ourselves that we ditched into a gutter out of fear that we’d be judged or exiled for being unworthy. With Black Moon Lilith, Pluto and the Scorpio Moon in the mix, this is an especially potent time for women to reclaim their true shamanic roots.
With Uranus and Pluto still in strong aspect by a tense square, some of your soul retrieval work may take novel twists or turns. Or, your intensity around self-reclamation may earn you the title “uncaring” or worse. This event does have a tone of “don’t take anything personal”, but of course, it will be taken in just that way…for now. Weather the raging storms, and you will break into the clear, and so will everyone else. If all this seems confusing, try not to let it drop you into overwhelm. Do you know a bit about your birth chart? Then look to see where you have anything around 10-15 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio. Look at which house Venus rules (Taurus or Libra), and also where Pluto falls in your chart (co-ruler of Scorpio). Those positions will give you a hint what the themes of the denial/release are about, while the placement of the Sun and Moon, Pluto, etc. will show the houses where the activations will occur. Although this Lunation occurs Sunday in some parts of the globe, and Monday in the rest, the effects will be more visible for the next two weeks. In other words, there may not be any fireworks to observe on Bank Holiday Monday in Britain and Ireland. Too wet out there anyway (if you live there, you know what I mean). The upwelling will become apparent as the days tick off towards the New Moon in Taurus on the 18th of May, the next starting point in these exciting, but sometimes weird, times. Don’t book any wooden riverboat trips down Denial, and may the stars be ever in your favor. And as always, Peace, Isaac P.S. The website will be undergoing a major makeover during this coming week or so...it too desires to become enlightened :-). So, pardon our dust. Thanks! P.P.S. I find it wildly ironic that the day after this Full Moon is "Cinco de Mayo", which celebrates a major victory by Mexico against an invasion by France in 1862. Enjoy your favorite chilli, burrito or tostada with a Dos Equis, Carta Blanca or Pacifico brew, and declare your Yindependence. Ole'!
